How much does your regular cleaner cost?

I'm thinking of getting a cleaner as I've got prem babies and have no time for housework. If you have a cleaner, how much is it and how often do they come? House is three bedrooms.

£12 per hour in London. 3 hours twice per month. Two bed flat and she fits in some ironing, changes bed linen and cleans fridge as well as the usual.

£12.50ph for two hours per week (4 bed) ie £100 a month.

Worth every penny.

I do very little cleaning the rest of the week and tidy up before she comes so she can actually clean the floors etc. Incentive to tidy up.

I justify not hoovering or anything in between by remembering it's important for houses not to be too clean....

Thank you! Does she get the whole house done in two hours? My house is fairly medium sized (kitchen/diner, lounge, one bathroom 3 bed) so I doubt it would take more than two hours. How tidy does it need to be before they arrive?

Stupid questions but I've never had one before Blush

I have 3 beds, one bath, 1 downstairs loo, and 3 hours are absolutely required. £12 an hour and worth every penny.

4 hours for 4 bedroom £50 a week

kaytee87 · 14/01/2019 18:16

£20 per week for 2 hours. 4 beds, 3 reception, 2 bathrooms, study, kitchen & utility but she only does half the house in 2 hours (the rooms we use really). It's 4 hours if i want the whole place done.
I keep the place very tidy but if there's something I've not had time to do (eg dishwasher) then she does it for me.

£12.50 an hour, 4 hours a week.
5 bedroom (although regular sized) house.
She gets around all the rooms except one of the spare rooms as it’s a building site at the moment. Sometimes she goes in and hoovers/sweeps it but I tell her not to bother.
She brings her own cleaning sprays and cloths etc but uses our steam cleaner and hoover. I buy the specific floor cleaner for our wooden floors but she brings and mop and bucket as we don’t have one!
I tidy up before she comes, usually empty upstairs bins, dc tidy their rooms, make our beds, basically leave the house as I do every day, in a state that I wouldn’t be embarrassed to bring a surprise visitor home to.
She will do the odd bits of washing up if dds haven’t cleared up breakfast stuff after I’ve left, fold clothes or hang back up stuff if I’ve gotten a few bits out in the morning when deciding what to wear. She re makes all the beds (not stripping and re making them, just tidied them and folds down the top bit, it makes them look like hotel beds!), and gives everything a thorough clean.
When we go away for 2 week holidays, she does one week normal clean and one week deep clean where she will do windows, skirting boards, pull out sofas/beds, that sort of thing.

£12.50 an hour in Hertfordshire. We have her 2 hours a week.

NanooCov · 14/01/2019 18:43

£11 an hour. North Kent. 2.5 hours a week. I tidy up before she comes. House is a small three bedroom with downstairs shower room and small family bathroom. Open plan lounge, kitchen, diner. She will dust, Hoover, clean bathrooms, wash hard floors, clean kitchen, empty bins, empty and refill dishwasher if required and change bed linen if I leave the stuff out for her. We provide all products and equipment

4 bed. Hour and a half once a week for £100 a month. It's honestly a revelation and my house is a much nicer place to live as a result!

Seline · 14/01/2019 19:46

I'm so glad everyone thinks it's a good use of money. I love a clean house but with three children and chronic pain it's a nightmare to keep on top of at the moment!

£10 per hour in East Midlands.

3.5 hrs per week to do a large farmhouse. Dining room and spare bedroom don't get done.

Notsurehowifeel0 · 14/01/2019 19:56

I've only had a cleaner for about 6 months but honestly think it's money well spent. We love coming home to our house after she's been and it's relieved so much pressure!

We have a 5 bedroom house but she doesn't clean every room. We pay £25 a week for 2 hours. She cleans kitchen, downstairs toilet, living room dining room, hallway family bathroom, and does all the floors in those rooms each week (hovers and mops). Then with any time she has spare she does the bedroom floors. So each week she will do two bedrooms.

If your house is clear of stuff and tidy the cleaner can get more done quicker.

Hope your baby is ok Flowers

We love our cleaner Grin
