Swings make me feel sick - am I just getting old?!

Over the last year or so I've noticed that going on a swing (for no more than about 5 seconds) makes me feel dizzy. It's the same with bouncy castles and can't even manage one verse of ring-a-ring o' roses!

Is this just an added joy of ageing?! I'm 38 which I didn't think was too old to manage on a swing! Or maybe something inner ear related to get checked out (obvs don't want to waste a GPs time) !

I'm fine with swings even at 67 but haven't been able to go on anything that whizzes round since my 20s.

I wonder if travel sickness tablets would help? I’m desperate to go on the rides when we go to theme parks

poptart I've had a Google and there are specific motion sickness tablets you can take, also antihistamines are meant to be good too. Non drowsy ones if you can duns them.

It's an age thing.
I stopped being able to swing, roundabout or play first person computer games around the age of 40. I was really sicky for a couple of days after playing on a swing, never again.
I can still zip wire thank heavens.

I was just thinking this at the park with my toddler the other day! I'm only 28! Blush the swings made me feel dizzy after like 2 seconds

Vegisgrowingwell · 13/01/2019 22:41

I felt dizzy after having children so I thought it was linked to that for me!

TimeForWhat · 14/01/2019 10:38

Relieved it's not just me but what a pain in the arse eh?! I have to steady myself even getting up off the floor

Ps. I wasn't going to tell the Dr I couldn't 'swing' (Shock) anymore but wondered if was sign of inner ear prob. Just age then .. sigh

I'm fine on swings, at nearly 59 DGD gets cross with me if I'm on too long, because somebody else wants a go. Never been too great on roundabouts or slides though.
