It’s mine.
I’m getting ahead for Monday as we are out tonight and get back late and I start at 8am tomorrow.
The bread is that half and half stuff, scrape of spread, onion chutney, naice slice of ham and handful of salad leaves. 25 gram pack of crisps and the other bits.
That’s all I’ll eat from leaving the house at 0720 to getting home at 5pm. I’ll have a bowl of Weetabix and semi skimmed milk at 6.45 and several mugs of tea during the day.
A neighbour of ours was here (returning our cat carrier she borrowed yesterday) when I was prepping it (and incorrectly thought it was for DD, who has school lunches every other week, her choice). She commented that her DD’s school would deem it unhealthy.
Surely it’s not that bad! The crisps are 120 calories fgs.

Our school wouldn't let you have the crisps or the nuts but I think it's fine.

appless · 13/01/2019 15:02

Some people have become so obsessed with food/health that they see a packet of crisps and think heart attack.

onalongsabbatical · 13/01/2019 15:02

quinoa with lentils and dust yum, thanks for the menu idea! Grin

PinkHeart5914 · 13/01/2019 15:03

No not unhealthy, I wouldn’t say so anyone.

Why only 1 slice of ham, that’s a bit tight. If your going to have a ham sandwich then have a ham sandwich don’t just tease yourself with ham.

Be careful with the nuts, that calories on them innocent looking little things soon add up

Weezol · 13/01/2019 15:05

Quinoa with lentils and dust? Glutton.

AmericanEskimoDoge · 13/01/2019 15:08

Looks fine to me, but of course I'm no expert. I tend to eat what I want and figure other people can do the same.

No matter what you choose to eat, there will be someone who can come along, look at it, sniff, and make some remark about how unhealthy it is. Seriously, if you avoided everything that anyone has ever deemed "unhealthy", you'd have to become one of those weirdos who claim to subsist on sunlight alone!

brizzledrizzle · 13/01/2019 15:08

Unhealthy would be white bread with chocolate spread, a pack of crisps, a carton of ribena and a chocolate bar. DSil is a primary school teacher and it's a common packed lunch at her school.

Rudgie47 · 13/01/2019 15:10

Its fine, tell her to fuck off OP.
The only thing is the bread will be soggy by tomorrow, I couldn't eat a pre prepared sandwich

AmericanEskimoDoge · 13/01/2019 15:10

Re: my previous comment--

...Except, I just realized! Sunlight contains UV, which causes cancer, so... Ugh, what's a person to do?! Wink

Dextrodependant · 13/01/2019 15:10

Tease yourself with ham 😂😂 qthis thread is brilliant!

Looks good to me though I can't imagine caring what another adult chooses to eat.

JemSynergy · 13/01/2019 15:15

I think it is fine, I love crisps but opt for unsweetened popcorn if giving to my child. However, my child's school has a packed lunch policy and we get pulled up for putting in things such as plain popcorn. My child has an eating disorder so I'm happy when she eats anything! People such as lunchtime staff criticising a packed lunch does nothing but harm to children who have food issues.

Kool4katz · 13/01/2019 15:34

Better than mine. When I was working I use to buy take out coffees and a roll from the caff next door to work. I might buy a bag of crisps too.

Armi · 13/01/2019 16:09

I’m waiting for the inevitable ‘I couldn’t eat all that AND Weetabix for breakfast! That would last me two days!’

I take issue with the crisps, OP. Salt and vinegar crisps are what you want, not cheese and onion.

WorraLiberty · 13/01/2019 18:40

I’m waiting for the inevitable ‘I couldn’t eat all that AND Weetabix for breakfast! That would last me two days!’

I was waiting for the inevitable, "My 6 year old could eat double that and demolish 4 scrambled eggs, 9 Weetabix, 8 toasted bagels and an entire hog roast" Grin

Bobaboutwhat · 13/01/2019 20:40

In what context did your neighbour say this? Was it in a “you wouldn’t believe it but DDs school would say this unhealthy” with a rolling of the eyes, or in a judgemental way - the second one is extremely inappropriate and rude if this is the case!! You surely must know that for an adult this is not an unhealthy lunch and you and your neighbour would know that nuts are banned from schools due to severe allergies. The irony is that the crisps are probably frowned upon by schools but my sons dinners which are provided by the school always include an unhealthy pudding such as a cookie, sponge cake etc.!!

appless · 13/01/2019 22:07

I don't know where mumsnetters meet all these weirdos. This kind of stuff never happens to me. I honestly would just laugh in the face of someone if they said this to me.

percypeppers · 13/01/2019 22:12

I have a friend who always made comments about my house. She isn't invited here anymore.

Suggest you do the same with this neighbour. What a bore!
