All my windowsills are naked and I want something canny on there that doesn't look shit and cheap, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
What's on yours?

Generally a cat. Which means nothing else placed on the windowsill could possibly survive 😂

vampirethriller · 13/01/2019 08:15

In the bedroom there's a photo of my dog. The kitchen has two orchids, a load of medication so I don't forget to take it, a couple of little Buddha statues and a flask that doesn't fit anywhere else.

DoingMyBest2010 · 13/01/2019 08:16

...dust and dead plant leaves.....and some planted pots, photoframes and candles.

Bluesheep8 · 13/01/2019 08:37

Lounge nothing
Kitchen fresh herbs in pots x 3
Main bathroom faux cactus x3 and a small concrete (?) Chunky star these are supposed to be there. Then 4 eyeliners, a jar of face cream and a dead fly, which aren't!
Utility room faux roses and cow parsley in a jug
Spare room nothing
Study nothing
Landing a Yankee candle with a glass shade
Main bedroom nothing
En suite x3 Yankee tea lights in glass holders. A lot of grime (needs a clean)

Kitchen - two amaryllis a pot of basil a vase and a wooden cow with a bell
Dining room - three orchids a large vase and two small vases
Living room - vase of flowers four candles some ornaments, it’s a large bay window so doesn’t look cluttered
Conservatory - three vases some gardening gloves and a dog lead

Reawqoab · 13/01/2019 09:45

Water, the windows are leaking Sad

PhilomenaButterfly · 14/01/2019 20:54

DS 7 at the moment! 😂

LoniceraJaponica · 14/01/2019 20:56

Nothing. I hate clutter.

Kemer2018 · 14/01/2019 20:59

3 beautiful Orchids in pretty pots.
I'd like to fill the house with plants but oh gets twitchy.

NanooCov · 14/01/2019 21:43

Too much shit! Nothing on living room windowsills as we have blinds. Kitchen window sill has lots of miscellaneous crap plus three orchids and some air plants. Downstairs loo has a cactus. Upstairs bathroom has kids bath toys. Front bedroom has model boats. They're my favourite.

Mummylife2018 · 15/01/2019 02:03

In Kitchen: Three vintage Teapots & a candle

In Living Room: Vase, photo frame, small decorative plate on a stand and WiFi router

FlyingMonkeys · 15/01/2019 02:27

Nothing anymore! I used to always have a vase or candles... All a dust trap and frankly can't be arsed, plus sunlight fades things so much. Less clutter is the way forward.

Somewhereovertherainbow13 · 15/01/2019 12:51

Upstairs has dinosaurs which are too big for the toy box. Front room has 4 x school photos (only just added these), kitchen has fake flowers in a glass vase. I hate clutter but these make it seem lived in

BarbaraofSevillle · 15/01/2019 13:45

Another one with nothing but cats and their footprints to grace the window sills.

Ours are stupidly narrow anyway, so you'd have a job putting even pictures, vases or ornaments on there. I did think about trying to widen them, but realistically, all that will do will provide somewhere more comfortable for the cats to sit and watch the world go by from.

Kitchen windowsill is a little wider, but holds nothing decorative, merely the washing up liquid, handwash, hand cream and all the glass that hasn't yet made it to the recycling bag.

Itstimetoscream · 15/01/2019 13:49

Nothing here too.

Greyhound22 · 15/01/2019 13:54

A T-Rex 🦖

I normally like a vase with some flowers or a plant. I used to have my Willow Tree ornaments on there but since one was beheaded I put them higher up.

What's on yout windowsill?
IncomingCannonFire · 15/01/2019 13:57

Bathroom has houseplants to front and showergels, etc on side window, bedrooms have nothing, kitchen has a folded teatowel where the fiddly stuff is left to dry, a vase of flowers, random jars I'm deciding whether to recycle or not and the energy meter. Large bay window in the lounge is currently housing a toy car garage and lots of cars. It used to have a large orchid and some photo frames.

ShadowsInTheDarkness · 15/01/2019 14:01

Daffodils in a jam jar of water are my favourite cheap but looks nice window sill decorations. They are starting to appear this time of year too, the local Asda had loads yesterday.

GrumpyOldMare · 15/01/2019 14:08

My cat, making sure that the garden doesn't get stolen and chuttering at the birds that have dared to visit the bird feeders.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/01/2019 16:56

In the kitchen, one window has my aloe babies in vintage tea cups. They keep having more babies, so the collection will need to be culled at some point. The other one has the canisters on, and the milk bottles waiting to go out. I hate it- too much clutter. No other window sills have anything on, except one which isn't an outside facing window, it is between our porch and our utility room (extension). That has everything on it- letters, keys, stuff for school. So much so that I'm going to get a set of boxes for it so it's not such a dumping ground.

flameycakes · 15/01/2019 17:09

Stones, seashells and cats x

Gotstuckwiththisname · 15/01/2019 18:59

On our various windowsills are:
Photos in nice frames that go with the decor
fake flowers in a vase (they are nice, promise)
a plant
DC have sparkly light up letters in their initials and their snow globe collection

Shmithecat · 15/01/2019 19:00

Nothing. I have cats.

PhilomenaButterfly · 15/01/2019 21:47

I'm still waiting for someone to beat a 7yo boy! #proudmum

VenusClapTrap · 15/01/2019 22:36

Many plants. One cat.
