Actually, now that someone mentioned it, I realize (and with a zee!) that I do most often write the date January 16, 2019 over 01/16/2019. Writing out the month is still extremely common over here.

Due to my Texan DIL I now call the letterbox on my front door "the mail slot" as it was pointed out to me it is not a box!
She also thinks what "Trump" always meant to the average Brit is hilarious.
