I agree using female sounds odd, except in Prokupatuscrakedatus’s usage of the word obviously.

CrookedMe · 11/01/2019 13:17

IME it's a putdown by the older generation.

'There was this female driver'
And this female said

'Female' always reminds me of Friday Night Dinner.

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 11/01/2019 14:13

I always want to post threads like this on the other surgery/botox threads where people chime in and say "I've had this done but no one knows". They know. They just haven't told you to your face.

LucilleBluth · 11/01/2019 14:21

Oh god....I have Botox in my forehead and I feel weird when it wears off. I'm worried now that everyone is thinking I'm odd 😀😀. Not really I look fabulous 😭😭😭.

CrookedMe · 11/01/2019 14:23

A friend of mine thinks nobody knows about her botox. The fact that her eyebrows now track upwards like Ming the Merciless is quite a big giveaway though. Luckily she's brazen as fuck and would style it out if anyone did say.

But yes, almost anything done to the face is noticeable.

CrookedMe · 11/01/2019 14:24

Oh my god that was a terrible crosspost Lucille!!

I wasn't being bitchy about your botox. I'm sure it's better than the Ming look, really.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 11/01/2019 14:28

I have botox in my forehead and it hasn't affected any other part of my face.I just no longer have lines there. My df is very anti facial tweaking/surgery etc and he's never noticed

LucilleBluth · 12/01/2019 08:39

CrookedMe 😀 Don't worry, mine is very subtle. I'm 38 and have a little between my eyes and in my forehead lines. It really does make me look refreshed and not a sole knows about it.

I'm one of those weirdos who checks for wrinkles in a magnifying mirror, but ultimately there's not a lot I can do about it.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 12/01/2019 08:48

You're all worrying me now for my breast reaugmentation in 2 weeks. I was hoping no one at work would notice but I'm going a little bigger 😅

cricketmum84 · 12/01/2019 08:49

A woman I used to work with had her eyebrows tattooed. They looked blue. Couldn't keep my eyes off them!

LucilleBluth · 12/01/2019 09:08

Soul...I'm blaming the iPad for that one.

AviatorShades · 12/01/2019 09:17

andanother, agree about the use of 'female',ie a female bus driver, but it always seems to be a lady doctor? Why, I've no ideaConfused

HildaZelda · 12/01/2019 14:52

A lady that used to work with me came in one morning looking very surprised. She continued to look like that for a few months until the botox wore off. If I ever harbour thoughts of having it done, I think of her and immediately come to my senses.

SamanthaJayne4 · 12/01/2019 15:35

I had some skin tags removed from my neck and had to go to work the next day with several little round plasters on. It took until lunchtime for someone to pluck up the courage to ask! Grin

Yabbers · 12/01/2019 15:39

I think if you have work done that is so obvious you can’t expect people not to notice and stare a bit to be honest.

Sure, if you look odd, people absolutely have the right stare at you. 🙄

itsbritneybiatches · 12/01/2019 15:50

I have my forehead done, and crows feet with Botox.

I get a lip filler every six months and I've got braces at the minute.

I had my boobs done in October.

However, my teeth were crooked. My boobs very uneven.

I hope people have noticed lol or it was a waste of money

BrokenWing · 12/01/2019 16:11

We had a woman in our occ health department work who did botox, she had it herself and it was also a part time occupation for her in a salon. She had botox, lip fillers and god only knows what else done to her face. It looked comically ridiculous with the huge forehead and lips looking fit to burst and it was impossible not to stare. She was oblivious to it, her face was an advert not to get it done.

Another friend gets it done, not as bad, but when I first met her it was obvious something was unusual with her forehead.

I have never knowingly seen a good natural looking botox result.

Birdsgottafly · 12/01/2019 16:30

Not quite the same, but I spent around £350 on a home microneedling and Radio Therapy kit. I was bloody glad people noticed the difference.

When I had my lips done, again I was glad people noticed, or its a waste of money and pain.
