Advice - how much is too much?

Ds2 (age 6) has been vomiting since 11:00. He has medical issues including GORD and liver issues, and some of his vomit had old and new blood in it, so he was seen by a GP at 3:20 who predicted him anti emetics, and put it down to his GI issues.

It's now 9:40 and DS2 still hasn't been able to keep even tiny sips of water down. He's vomited about 20 times, there's no more blood but it's either water, squash, and/or bright yellow, moving to green.

He also says his neck is hurting, particularly when I'm helping him sit up to puke. But he doesn't have a temperature and doesn't have a rash.

Do I just ride it out for the night? Should I be concerned about dehydration (not really been able to wee, and crying with no tears).

For full disclosure, I'm a single mum, both the boys have disabilities and I know NHS direct will want him checked out because they panic about his conditions, so I just want advice as to whether I should ring. All I just worrying too much?

I’d phone, disabilities or not. It sounds like he may need fluids. Bless him.

Vomiting and sore neck - take him straight to A&E and let them look at him. I hope he's OK.

^ just read the OP back properly and agree

Thank you. I'll give them a ring. I was worried I was being paranoid.

Yes get him checked out tonight. Do you have a family member or friend or neighbour who’d watch DC1? Parents of one of their schoolfriends maybe? I know I’d happily help if asked by one of DCs parents.

IWantMyHatBack · 09/01/2019 21:50

Definitely not paranoid. He sounds dehydrated.

I'm going to speak to my (not yet live-in) partner.

Poor love, I'd call too

They want me to take him to A&E, but I now can't find anyone to have my eldest. Obviously I'll just take him too, but it's made me realise how little support I have.

How is he?

HugAndRoll · 10/01/2019 17:28

He's okay thank you. They think it was down to his GI issues, and he just couldn't get out of the cycle. They have him some awesome anti emetics, and he's like a new child.

Oh that's great, glad to hear he's on the mend.
