Definitely chocolate, but it had to be dark and you have to suck it

RJnomore1 · 09/01/2019 18:50

It's dry

I think I may actually have thyme

I found some antiseptic lozenges in the cupboard but I'm only allowed one every 2 hours

Vicks on the soles of your feet and drink honey and pure lemon juice mixed with some hottish water

When I had a dreadful cough for about three months last winter, the doctor helpfully suggested a glass of water.

I second Pholcodine for a dry cough

Ycochyn · 09/01/2019 19:18

Codeine is a cough suppressant, so any codeine based cough mixture should work ( according to my doctor)
Good luck!

DH swears by equal measures of port and brandy mixed together and knocked back in one. It does seem to work for him.

sudafed stops the nose getting snotty which in turn stops the nasal drip and if you keep taking it can stop a cough from occurring or developing.

Peppermint tea with honey mixed in.

Also, at night try to breathe through your nose not your mouth (at least until you fall asleep). This cut down my cough rate a lot as airway was less dry.

Broncho stop cough syrup is really good
