Could you please help me create a charcuterie table for my friend?

It's a friends birthday in early March and one thing that she'd really love to have at the party is a huge charcuterie/cheese board. She's always talking about them, how she'd love to have one at a party or if she marries. She is obsessed with delis and trying new foods.

I know that it won't be cheap, especially as it's going to be a table or bench sized one, but a friend who manages a wonderful Italian deli and restaurant is happy to supply some of the products at a discount.

Which cheeses and meats would you include, also sides? My friend also loves sides like olives, balsamic onions, chutneys etc as much as the mains.

Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated. TIA.

Burrata Is delicious, it’s a variation of mozzarella but a bit creamier

Can't believe I missed out a Spanish section. I used to bloody live there! Get some good Spanish sobresada - it's like a chorizo pate. Add a tortilla cut into cubes you can spear with a cocktail stick.

I now want this for tea for the rest of the month!

I wouldn't do dessert other than birthday cake as I don't think it would get eaten.

You can add bulk & colour with Aldi's olives, sun-dried tomatoes, grilled peppers & artichokes. They're about £1 a jar.

That's a great idea, Senua. I'll see what my local supermarkets have left tomorrow.

Maybe check out Lidl - some fab charcuterie there & well priced!

Go to Pinterest.
Search ‘charcuterie platter’.
Drool.
Get very hungry.
Spend a small fortune at waitrose.
Bask in your friend’s grateful thanks.

Check none of the guests are gluten free when thinking of your layout. That layout piece linked to by a pp looks awesome but as the bread/crackers are intermingled with the meat/cheese my coeliac son would not be able to eat anything.
