When I was in France , I couldn't find apple pie anywhere so that.

OP posts:
IHaveBrilloHair · 08/01/2019 15:56

Decent tea

ReaganSomerset · 08/01/2019 15:59

The NHS. DH got hospitalised last time, had to pay upfront for treatment so that travel insurance could reimburse us later. Except the atms wouldn't let us take that much out in one day and the hospital wouldn't accept non-native cards... Oh, the stress!

PeridotCricket · 08/01/2019 16:02

Decent tea, made with boiling water and proper milk.

I drink black liptons tea and pout.

icannotremember · 08/01/2019 16:07

Bread, usually. Other countries have bread I know, often very very nice bread, but different. DH is the same. Lived in the UK over 15 years now but still has to go and buy Polish bread every so often because he just needs the bread he grew up with.

toolazytothinkofausername · 08/01/2019 16:08

Being able to speak the language fluently. I need a Star Trek style translator :)

AgathaMisty · 08/01/2019 16:10

Crisps. Those Walker's style crisps just don't cut it. I need my Twiglets, Discos, etc!

Muthafish · 08/01/2019 16:11

I don’t miss anything other than British-style Chinese food.

Davros · 08/01/2019 16:12

Good cuppa
Walkers roast chicken crisps and any flavour but plain, cheese, paprika

SimplyPut · 08/01/2019 16:14

Tea and coffee depending on the country.
I find a lot of bread too sweet.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 08/01/2019 16:15

Proper pubs. Esp ones that do a good Sunday roast.

(I've been away 12 yrs. Not talking just 2 weeks in the Med Grin)

slartybardfast · 08/01/2019 16:17

Nothing. Since I started to remember to pack Tea. Its weighs almost nothing and makes every morning better.

...trouble is, cups are never big enough! Usually end up drinking a brew from a cereal bowl, or something mug shaped.

fruitbrewhaha · 08/01/2019 16:20

The National Trust.

When we go away we will visit old palaces, monasteries, tombs etc. Without fail I'm disappointed in the lack of info available and just wonder around trying to guess what I'm looking at. The kids say "wheres's the trail? where's the kids bit? "

We are spoilt here.

MrsTerryPratcett · 08/01/2019 16:22

Curry. Decent driving. Good tea.

AdamNichol · 08/01/2019 16:24

Bread, usually

I lived a lot of my teens in Hong Kong. You could get bread, but a lot of it was a weird honey and egg combo thing.
Still, I miss more about HK now I'm back in UK than I did about UK when I was in HK.

AdamNichol · 08/01/2019 16:25

Decent driving

Clearly you don't live round my way......

Notwiththeseknees · 08/01/2019 16:26

I've been trying to find baking potatoes for three weeks now (although DP thought I was mad bringing some with me).
He's popped off home now for a week of work - I'm hoping he will bring some in his hand baggage Grin

MamaDane · 08/01/2019 16:30

Home country is Denmark.
I miss good rye bread, proper licorice, proper chocolate, the freedom to say whatever I want, my cats back at home 😁, ehm can't think of anything else atm 🤔

Lindtnotlint · 08/01/2019 16:31

Decent online shppping. Love the UK.

ZaZathecat · 08/01/2019 16:31

Curry

DogMamma · 08/01/2019 16:31

Proper tea!

DogMamma · 08/01/2019 16:32

Oh and my dogs obviously xx

LaurieFairyCake · 08/01/2019 16:34

Politeness
Chips

Franheaton · 08/01/2019 16:36

Yet another vote for tea. And decent cheese, when outside Europe. Not an issue when on holiday, a pain to the point of craving when you live there. One of favourite things when abroad is trying out crisp flavours.

chemenger · 08/01/2019 16:37

At the moment, Branson Pickle and cream crackers. Bread is a struggle in the US, you can get nice sourdough but the equivalent of a simple bloomer from Sainsbury’s is hard to find. DH would say marmalade, totally ignoring the fact that you can buy his usual brand in our closest supermarket.

LuluMelons · 08/01/2019 16:39

In France, I missed having a Meal Deal at lunch.
