Can anyone recommend reusable sanitary pads?

I have a reasonably light flow. Really want them to be comfortable. Also how do you deal with them/wash them? I used reusable nappies so I’m reasonably ok with what to do but pointers welcome. Thanks.

I bought mine from eBay (new, not used😱) about 5 years ago, not sure what brand they are.

They have lasted and washed very well, I would think I have an average flow and I would would change them slightly more often than the disposable ones. I find them very soft and comfortable.

As far as washing, I have 10 and a little waterproof bag, I just collect a few in the bag and put them in the machine on a rinse. After rinsing I add the other washing and wash and tumble dry as normal. I know some people keep the used ones in a tub with water and tea tree oil, but I have never found that necessary.

I think Cheeky Wipes do them too, might be worth a look.

Honour your flow are good and last well. The poppers are strong and they come in loads of sizes and absorbancies. You just rinse them in cold water and stick in the laundry.

I use hem too (or did when not pregnant). Got mine from cheeky wipes. Don't let the name put you off.

Very comfortable, especially the longer nighttime ones. I just gave them a cold rinse and then washed as normal, so as to not set the stains. Never leaked either.

I got mine off Etsy from pretty period. They’re so comfortable and made in so many patterns that they look great!

planespotting · 08/01/2019 13:17

Cheeky wipes, their period pants are amazing

Undercoverbanana · 08/01/2019 13:20

I’m 50 so well past this palaver but my DD has been using a mooncup for years and says it’s brilliant.

I have two different makes - but can only remember the brand name of one - that's Cloth Mama. The two lots are different - the Cloth Mama ones are slightly smaller, and fit a bit more snugly into my knickers.

They are slightly more bulky than the disposable ones, but I only noticed that when I first put one on - once it was on, I didn't notice any difference at all - they are just as comfortable.

I have a waterproof toiletries bag by the loo in my bathroom, and put the used ones in there, and wash them when I have five or six needing to be laundered.

I just bung mine straight through the wash, with Fairy sensitive washing capsules, and then I tumble dry them on a lower heat. If necessary, I finish drying them in the airing cupboard.

Nora and bloom. Think it's totsbots?

NewYearBetterHealth · 08/01/2019 13:40

I have a washable waterproof little bag for out and about with clean and dirty pockets.
Once home I give a quick rinse in cold water and stick them in a old ice cream tub ready to go in the next wash. I dont put them in with my nappies as I find they don't need the hotter wash.

rabbitfoodadvocate · 08/01/2019 13:41

Oooh, also...I have some Thinx period pants. They are bloody amazing! Bit pricey and I took a while to get my head around trusting them, but they are brill!

PuppyMonkey · 08/01/2019 13:45

I also used Honour Your Flow pads, really comfy. Would definitely advise keeping the used ones in a wash bag and giving a quick rinse in cold water before bunging in the washing machine. They come out lovely in tumble dryer too.

This is all history for me now as just gone through menopause. What larks.

Loyaultemelie · 08/01/2019 13:46

Tcs are great

PippaPug · 08/01/2019 14:22

Do you put them in the washing machine on their own?

wheresmyhairytoe · 08/01/2019 14:26

I use Honour your flow ones. I got some off amazon but find the shiny backing makes them move too much.
I soak them then chuck them in my normal wash.

NewYearBetterHealth · 08/01/2019 14:30

I put mine in with the next normal wash. Normally with a bit of vanish or laundry Dettol.

1MillionSelfiesTakenByMyKids · 08/01/2019 14:40

I got charcoal ones so the fleece one the 'inside ' was dark grey. Fabulous. Didnt show any marks or stains. I just pop them in my normal wash but i always cold rinse my washes before the proper wash anyway. Think they were cheeky wipes and as soneone else said the longer night time ones are the best

ChesterGreySideboard · 08/01/2019 14:42

I have Charlie Banana.
I keep them in a ziplock bag until they are washed. I wash them with a normal wash.

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 08/01/2019 14:43

Sorry to jump on your thread op but I was about to post the same thing!

How many do you know how to buy? Do you change them more or less than disposables?
The cheeky wipes kit looked expensive at first (although having used cloth nappies I know the upfront costs v ongoing) and then I've seen other ones not as expensive - but are they as good??

NewYearBetterHealth · 08/01/2019 14:46

I started off with 2 trial packs of 5 from different brands. Found I liked the totsbots bloom ones best, and bought a further 10. I find that enough, but I do a wash every day due to mud and food magnet kids.

HTKS · 08/01/2019 16:02

I have bought a trial pack from tots bots, found a 10% code TOTS10 if anyone interested. Will see how I go with them, thanks all!

I’ve heard imsevimse are good but haven’t tried them yet myself!

NannyR · 08/01/2019 16:09

The imse vimse ones are great - I've tried several brands over the years and these are the ones I like best. They are fairly cheap, not bulky and dry quickly.

Branleuse · 08/01/2019 16:22

ive got a few different ones, but my very favourite are by hiccups and juice. Theyre the only ones that ive gone back and ordered more from
