Not to their home address btw...Would you class this as stalking?

No, but why would you? They’ll probably never even get to see it.

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 08/01/2019 00:15

I dunno I saw an article suggesting people send cards to these celebs who have birthdays this month...I thought ??????

No, but I think it probably seems old fashioned these days as most celebs are on Twitter or other social media. I think it’s nice though.

I knew someone who is obsessed with TOWIE so goes down to Essex to the places they work and film at to try and meet the cast.

DragonMamma · 08/01/2019 00:17

Seems a bit pointless and strange if you ask me??

Leeds2 · 08/01/2019 00:18

I don't think I would class it as stalking.

But I would never do it, and don't think I know anyone who has. I very much doubt that the celeb would ever see it anyway.

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 08/01/2019 00:20

I think I would love to be a celeb and be sent cards and gifts. Non creepy ones though

I think most would prefer a sawn off doll's head and a post it note with green crayon writing.

That is, if you're looking for tips.

potatoscone · 08/01/2019 00:26

Depends if you know them or not.

If you know them - acceptable

If you don't - really weird thing to do

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 08/01/2019 00:27

I used to make cards and birthday cakes for Morrissey and leave them with his mother or by his gates when I was a teenager before he became a racist wankbadger

louise5754 · 08/01/2019 00:31

Do you have someone in mind?

Leeds2 · 08/01/2019 00:38

Did he ever acknowledge you Hoof? What did his mum say to you?

pineapplebryanbrown · 08/01/2019 00:41

I sent David Soul one, 28th August. Via his agent since he moved from Maida Vale. I also asked my bf at the time if he minded if i invited DS for a curry. He said I should definitely do that.

KylieJennersTopLip · 08/01/2019 00:51

Super creepy

flumpybear · 08/01/2019 01:36

Bit childish
Bit creepy
Generally a bit strange as a fully grown up member of 'normal' (👀) society

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 08/01/2019 01:54

Seems very odd to me, but then, I am an old curmudgeon who cannot grasp the obsession with celebrities especially the loathsome Kartrashians.

BlackCatSleeping · 08/01/2019 02:06

Annie, my mum says the craziness she and her friends had over the Beatles was way beyond anything kids these days feel about celebs.

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf · 08/01/2019 02:10

I believe that, BlackCat but I still don't get it. They're strangers. I worship P!nk, but I wouldn't send her a birthday card just like I wouldn't send a birthday card to a random person living in Siberia. It's weird.

Besides, at least the Beatles had talent. Some of the "celebs" people fawn over now are celebrities for doing nothing more than posting daft selfies on social media.

Racecardriver · 08/01/2019 02:20

No but it is weird.

LevitatingAtTheSistine · 08/01/2019 05:41

Weird and a waste as the agents is probably going to glance at it then throw it in the bin, it's not going to be put on the celebs side table on display.

SymphonyofShadows · 08/01/2019 05:47

At the most, you might get a standard letter back from someone at their agent. I used to do this on behalf of someone very famous. It’s very unlikely that they will see it. Gifts are usually passed on to charity.

Mystrader · 08/01/2019 07:21

Every year fans of Rupert Graves organise a fundraiser for his birthday. They pick a charity he is involved in and raise money by auctioning of fan fiction/art and memorabilia.
He always sends a nice thank you via Twitter and his wife often makes a donation. I'm sure they're pretty bemused by it, especially considering a lot of the fiction/art is slash (portraying a character he plays in a gay relationship) but at least it's benefitting charity.

SouthWestmom · 08/01/2019 07:23

I wouldn't. I did send a note to Sheila Hancock once and she wrote a nice reply and sent a photo. It's relevant to my son and is in his box of special bits and pieces.

Jaxtellerswife · 08/01/2019 08:21

People write to celebs all the time. If you want to then go for it

NameChangeNugget · 08/01/2019 08:24

If someone doesn’t know them personally, it’s a bit weird

Didiusfalco · 08/01/2019 08:26

I don’t think it’s stalkery. Maybe a bit pointless as they probably won’t see it. If you want a reply send to a member of the royal family. My ds wanted to do a card for the Queens 90th and got a lovely reply from her office.
