Fancy weekend break in the north?

My DP and I are getting married at the end of September, but due to various commitments we probably won't be able to have a proper honeymoon until at least next year, or maybe later.

We are looking for somewhere to go for a night or two the weekend after the wedding. We are based in Leeds but will have to drop our dd off to stay with in laws in Durham, so we are happy to travel as far north as Edinburgh (so anywhere in between) or we love the Lake District so this could be an option too.

Looking for somewhere really special to stay, but I'm struggling to find anything as I'm not sure exactly what to search for.

Would love some recommendations!

We love the spa lodges at the Gilpin by Lake Windermere thegilpin.co.uk/your-room/spa-lodges/

Either the Lord Crewe Arms in Blanchland County Durham or the Crab & Lobster in North Yorkshire. Both are particularly known for their food, have quirky rooms and some of the C&L suite's have a hot tub. Another option for The Lakes is The Drunken Duck.

Yorebridge house in Wensleydale. Great food. Individual rooms, some with hot tubs. Friendly people. Walks from the door. Not far from where you are. Idyllic!
