Thought provoking question for you all. I'm stuck answering it

So I'm looking at 'turning my life around' usual New Years stuff. I've read a book, that talks about goals.

One of the questions asks is..,

if you were financially set up for life...not rich but comfortable...your bills would be covered.....money for hobbies, adventures but as long as you stayed savvy. So money is no object.

What would you genuinely do with your time????

What would you do (I'm shamelessly trying to get ideas)Grin

Try new challenges. At the moment, having just watched 'Dancing on Ice' I think I'd learn to ice skate. Grin

Would love the time to try pottery or sculpting.

BackforGood · 06/01/2019 21:33

OnTrain · 06/01/2019 21:35

Go sailing, go biking, go walking, go climbing, go on holiday to other places doing these things!

Singlenotsingle · 06/01/2019 21:36

I'd go to the theatre in London a lot more, once or twice a month. So many good shows on, but so expensive!

merrybloominchristmas · 06/01/2019 21:36

Travel.
Learn new things.

Leyani · 06/01/2019 21:36

I’d do a degree or maybe a PhD on a topic I was really really interested in. And travel loads and volunteer. Maybe have the energy to be more politically active and involved in the community

TheFatberg · 06/01/2019 21:37

Nothing work related. I'd learn a language, a new skill and maybe get fit with a personal trainer.

Sitranced · 06/01/2019 21:37

Gardening and travelling

stinkypoo · 06/01/2019 21:37

Do more volunteering in the local community, learn languages related to where I was planning to next holiday.
Help other people;, it would allow my DD to have friends after school.
Exercise & cook.
Sleep, read & watch tv!

Qcng · 06/01/2019 21:38

I would still do what I do now, and what I spent my life devoted to, which is design-make-create.
It would be amazing to have all life's necessities taken care of, but I invested so much of my life into my creative production (jewellery etc) I would never just drop it.

CormoranStrike · 06/01/2019 21:38

Sew

WeightWatching2019 · 06/01/2019 21:38

Honestly? Sleep? I rack up a sleep debt of about 3 hours per night. I’d stay in beautiful hotels next to peaceful beaches and sleep and rest for one whole year. Then, and only then, would I consider my next moves.

GenderIsAPrison · 06/01/2019 21:39

Charity work. Gardening. Cooking. Crocheting. Teaching maths...not for a living though.

TulipsInbloom1 · 06/01/2019 21:39

Read more. Sleep more. Cook more. Move more.

Spend more time alone. Spend more time with family and friends.

Learn a language. Learn an instrument. Learn the dance routine to All The Single Ladies.

Have a weekly date night. Have a monthly night away. Have an annual fortnight abroad.

Have a second car. Have a second shower. Have a bigger bed.

RandomMess · 06/01/2019 21:41

Probably just carry on working!!! Would need friends etc.

elephantoverthehill · 06/01/2019 21:46

Walk. I would do some of the big walks in Britain eg south west coast path, Pennine way etc.

SpoonBlender · 06/01/2019 21:47

Volunteer, refugees and homeless work.
Re-learn to paint.
Travel.
Sleep, read (thanks Tulips!) and videogame more.

Whisky2014 · 06/01/2019 21:48

Take art classes ans become an artist

FlagFish · 06/01/2019 21:49

This is so boring, sorry, but but I'd carry on working (as I love my job and find it fulfilling) and save the money to give my kids a head start (house deposit etc) when they're a bit older.

Bunnybigears · 06/01/2019 21:49

I would volunteer. I would like to foster animals waiting to be adopted (I have done a little bit of this before) and Ive always said if I had enough money I would buy a holiday cottage/caravan and allow families with children suffering from life changing/limiting conditions to stay for free.

Passmethecrisps · 06/01/2019 21:50

Initially I would do a lot of sleeping and reading. Fairly quickly I think I would go back to studying. I would like to study psychology

Bathbombs · 06/01/2019 21:51

Walk, walk, walk. I’d love to do some really long ones staying in some nice places along the way
