Apologies if this thread has been done before but I am interested in how it will affect individuals and families specifically or not.

Can you start ordering your repeat prescription a little earlier in order to have some Insulin in hand. I know people will say you shouldn't do this but it's a huge worry for people dependent on insulin.

Mrskeats - sorry I’m only on p1 of this but your post is really interesting: the last time I went to get my repeat prescription which includes sanofi products the pharmacy was only able to get me a week’s supply (really annoying as it was Christmas week so lots of bank holidays etc to contend with). They said supply was massively disrupted for everything and I suppose stockpiling explains that.
I asked how I could prepare for Brexit and the dispenser said as we know nothing about what would happen the pharmacy was doing nothing (😱 - small town, independent pharmacy).
I think I might talk to the gp rather than the pharmacy because I can’t function unmedicated (epilepsy).

Medication wise -I am also concerned. My mother is in a terminally ill state in a home and the morphine patches to relies on to help her keep pain free are becoming more and more difficult to obtain. Ditto, prescription medicine I take - the last few times I've gone to get it, it has taken three or four pharmacies (including superstores) to find it

We live in Germany. No word on what we'll need to do....

The German government has published a detailed paper on what British citizens must do post Brexit.

IAmAllowedAnOpinion · 09/01/2019 15:46

It won't impact me personally.

As others have posted, impossible to know. If May's deal gets through or Art 50 notice is revoked, not a lot will change. Extremely big if though.

If it's no deal well who knows? A very minor thing but I am currently wondering if I did right in entering a 10k race in early May. If there are food and petrol shortages will I be (a) able to run and (b) even get there? Clearly a very first world problem!

Also booked trip to Channel Islands in early July. Only hotel so far, not flights but not sure whether to book flights. I lose a fairly hefty hotel deposit if we don't go. But if there are shortages will they affect the Channel Islands too? They are not in the EU anyway so maybe they can get everything from France if needsbe. But really don't know. I booked the hotel when the deal was finalised, it didn't occur to me that parliament would vote it down.

Already has affected us. DH made redundant from his job in November. Thankfully he got a large severance payment as he had been with the company for years. Brexit was a direct reason for his company deciding to pull back from his sector of the business. Struggled to be civil to my Brexit loving in laws over Christmas.

ChocolateCard · 09/01/2019 17:10

I am concerned I may not have enough petrol to get to work, or get the kids to school.

LivLemler · 09/01/2019 17:31

I'm in NI, so my main concerns are around the border and the peace process. Other than that, the usual concerns around the recession. Our jobs will hopefully be safe to begin with at least.
