Am I a terrible mum?

I'll give you all some backstory...

I've been on my own with my 2 DC for over 6 months while my DH works away.

DC are 5 and 2.

Quite a lot of the days in the school holidays, I have been putting a film on for my eldest while my youngest naps, cuddling up with her while the movies on and I've ended up napping myself. I am normally busy and out with them in the mornings... for walks, to the park, scooter rides etc and come mid afternoon I am completely wiped!

I'm feeling so guilty about this 😩 and feel very ashamed of myself. I'm just so so exhausted even with a decent sleep at night. There's always just so much I need to do and I have no one who I can lean on. It doesn't help that I can't drive and walking everywhere is also really tiring.

Literally feel like the worst parent ever!

Seriously. Give your head a wobble. You can’t seriously think that’s shocking parenting?

If you want to see some dreadful ‘parenting’ spend an hour at IKEA in Croydon, it’ll make you feel like a saint.

Everyone’s happy. Including DD ( who sounds very cute and pragmatic) 😊.

Get those driving lessons booked in for when DH is back and sort out your shit with a regular online delivery. Get a cleaner even if you can only afford it once a fortnight.

They’re loved and well looked after, stop worrying.

Back in the day when I grew up, we had no money. As far as I know none of my friends were taken out to be entertained each day. I have very fond memories of spending hours indoors in front of the VHS machine playing all my video tapes on repeat. Superman, Goonies, Indiana Jones, Grease, Disney, anything by Spielberg, or any random stuff recorded off the tele. At 5 I'm sure your DD has a busy school schedule and is enjoying a chance to relax at home.
