Going abroad on holiday with a 6 month old

We are planning a holiday abroad somewhere in Spain when baby is 6 months old.

A few questions, we have a silver cross bulky pushchair, would you just buy a cheapo to take and leave it there?

Did you take a travel cot or trust a used mattress abroad?

Any other tips gratefully received!

Get a McLaren buggy

We have a Hauck stroller that comes with us on holiday, and I’m really happy with it. Maclaren is the go-to brand here - bring it home, it may come in handy when your DC is too heavy to lug around in the Silver Cross!

If you do some research there will probably be somewhere you can hire what you you need whilst there. That's what we did when we went to Cyprus

Get a cheap stroller. We have a hauck one we got from Aldi for only £29! It lives in our car boot and goes on holidays. Would never think of taking our proper buggy on a holiday. Don't leave it there, as you will get loads of use out of it. I always use the travel cots abroad. Usually one of those pack and play types that you can just wipe rather than an actual cot bed mattress. And then you can take a sheet or a sheet may be provided. Have fun!

Take a buggy not a big cumbersome pram and use the travel cot they provide. Have fun!

I went on hol with 6mo twins to Turkey. Definitely a stroller. A shade a babe type thing is good for naps. Lots of pouches/ snacks. I pushed a double bed against the wall and slept with them, although we had ordered a travel cot from hotel, but it wasn't comfortable.

Don't take anything more than the bare essentials. If you're going to Europe you can buy anything you need there. I saw some people last week who were taking a jumperoo on holiday with them. Mind boggling!!!
