How can I heal my gums?

I had a filling done near the back between two molars and ever since the redness in the gum hasn't gone away. It feels spongy to the touch & is inflamed. For the past month I've been flossing, brushing well and using mouth-wash religiously but the gum is still inflamed & showing no signs of improving whatsoever. I don't eat a shit diet & have no fizzy drinks or alcohol. What can I do to get it to heal? The inflamed area is across the base of two teeth and there's no bleeding when flossing.

It was recommended l use the little interdental brushes rather than floss. I get inflamed gum on one side regularly due to recession. Apparently its caused by pockets of debris getting under the gumline when they've receded which l suppose is same when you've had invasive procedure around them. As a last resort l once had to have a deep clean, also known as root paring which gets below the gumline where we can't reach ourselves. This sounds horrendous but l am the world's worst nervous patient and had a numbing injection in the area and didn't feel a thing and it did clear up the infection.
I also take enzyme cq10 which is supposed to be good for healthy gums. I wa also advised to not rinse but just spit out surplus toothpaste after brushing which l thought a it yuk tbh but apparently dentists are generally advising this now and this also seems to have cut down on my bouts of sore gums

Corsydol mouthwash but obviously follow the instructions/ check any contraindications. If you use it for too long it can stain your teeth so only short term use. You might need to revisit your dentist and get the filling sorted if it doesn't resolve.

Rinse with warm salt water. It might still be healing and cleaning with salt water can help that along and prevent infection.

If it doesn't work, go back to the dentist.

Have you tried Peroxyl mouthwash?

Redyoyo · 04/01/2019 23:09

Corsydol toothpaste, i have problems with my gums and this has made a great improvement. Also try ambysol which you can apply direct to the sore areas.
You might have an infection and need an antibiotic, you should maybe go back and see the dentist.

Salt water rinses (with warm water) are surprisingly super effective.

Gengigel is good for healing gums, might be worth a go.

The filling might be at fault if you have not had a problem previously. Is it near the gum line? Food could be getting caught underneath.

Watch with Corsodyl mouthwash, it can stain your teeth very badly. Gengigel (the small tube) is excellent, I would recommend that.
