films that are PGs now that werent PG's originally, are they always right? im not always convinced

Im assuming its the assumption that the special fx are so dated that young people simply won't be scared but im not sure I always agree sometimes the content/dialogue is still geared towards an older audience. and example is JAWS, its a PG now on Netflix Hmm the head bit even by itself is scaryish, and suspense and a child being eaten! And Indiana Jones apparently an PG Confused some adult themes there too. Is it just me? I'm sure there's more.

Jaws was originally a PG but when it was re-released in cinemas a few years ago the BBFC decided to raise its certificate to a 12A for precisely the reasons that you mention:

Always surprised me that Grease was / is a PG. However, reading the case study on the BBFC website, the justification seemed to be largely that the audience wouldn’t understand the Americanisms!
