What do you use it for?

OP posts:
MeetOnTheledge · 03/01/2019 08:33

Disinfecting sink drains mainly. I try and be as sparing as possible with it as the fragrances are very artificial and overpowering, but it's a handy product.

PoptartPoptart · 03/01/2019 08:34

Dilute it with water and mop the floor

Bluntness100 · 03/01/2019 08:35

It's a disinfectant, and you shouldn't be discinfecting your home unless you have had illness or something there. Past that normal cleaning is what's required.

MadisonAvenue · 03/01/2019 08:38

Sinks and drains, I pour some in the bin outside too and also put a few drops on the cloth on the steam mop when cleaning the floor.

It’s so difficult to find at the moment though due to the Hinch woman fad and her followers stockpiling it Angry

ReaganSomerset · 03/01/2019 08:40

I prefer method, personally.

bobstersmum · 03/01/2019 08:42

I don't personally like the stuff, but there will be loads of people along telling you to do all kinds of things with it! As pp mentioned, it's a highly fragranced disinfectant, it should be used with caution really.

MsSquiz · 03/01/2019 08:45

I use it (diluted) to:
Wipe down the kitchen bin (inside & out)
Clean the tiled floors
Wipe down kitchen benches
Wipe down bathroom sinks
Wipe down toilet seats & lids

It's just a household disinfectant

CornishMaid1 · 03/01/2019 08:45

I have some diluted in a spray bottle and use it to clean my worktops. My worktop has a ridged texture so never came up very clean looking with normal kitchen cleaners, but the zoflora sprayed wiped and then washed off with a damp cloth leaves them sparkling.

AnnaMagnani · 03/01/2019 08:47

Nothing. The smell is revolting and gives me a headache.

Also, every surface of your house does not require disinfecting.

WWYDhelpplease · 03/01/2019 09:07

It doesn’t particularly smell nice. Very overpowering. I’ll use it in my sink overnight if I have it.

MarthasGinYard · 03/01/2019 09:10

Just a few drops in boiling water to mop the floor.

Faves are rose and spring bouquet

Starlight90 · 03/01/2019 09:11

In a spray bottle wipeing my kitchen tops.

Kitchen and utility sinks.

Wipe down the bin.

Wipe down the bathroom sinks and toilets.

Starlight90 · 03/01/2019 09:12

Oh the floors too. And in my new spray mop!

Inbetween4 · 03/01/2019 09:20

I always here people mention it and never knew what it actually was Blush

OP posts:
JanuarySnowdrops · 03/01/2019 09:26

I put a drop in the kitchen sink plug once a week and use it for the floor.

Asda just delivered the festive fragranced one that wasn't available before Christmas!

peridito · 03/01/2019 09:30

Few drops neat into empty bath to make bathroom/WC/cat litter room smell nicer .

I like Winter Spice ,Winter Morning ,Twilight Garden .

I do genuinley like the fragrance of these but for me a large part of the attraction is the names ! ( I love a bit of copywriting .)

And I also enjoy hunting them down in shops - they are inexpensive and finding that Iceland has one bottle of a fav is like winning a game .
And seeing how much is charged for the limited edition /harder to get fragrances makes me laugh and think i've got a bargain Grin

I lead a quiet like .

dingit · 03/01/2019 09:36

Highly toxic and kills small animals, especially caged birds.

Bluntness100 · 03/01/2019 10:39

Op, it's not healthy to live in a sanitised environment particularly if you have children or animals. Google it.

Sadly some people don't understand what a discinfectant is, or when they should be using it, they think zoflor is some cheap way to make your house smell good, like an air freshener. It's not.

As said, you should only be discinfecting, if you've had sickness in the house. Past that, just clean normally. Using zoflora is no different to using pure dettol or any other discinfectant.

Printerneedsink · 03/01/2019 10:43

There's no need to "disinfect" your drains either, but it does smell nice.

lucky88 · 03/01/2019 10:55

I use it every other time I mop. I do one mop a week just water and a drop of soap, the other time I include a bit of zoflora. Be careful not to put more than a drop or two because it's extremely strong - smell can give you a headache. I'm worried about using it on any varnished wood incase it damages(?) no idea If it would but I stick to just doing kitchen floor tiles and bathroom floor.

I have also used it to clean the washing machine after sickness. Was good for that.

So far so good. Follow the dilute instructions on the bottle.

MeetOnTheledge · 03/01/2019 11:21

I only put a few drops in the sink if the drains get whiffy, I occasionally use it for washing smelly sports kit too, a bottle lasts me a couple of years I would guess. Another thing I don't like is thst it runs down the outside of the bottle when you pour it, it is highly irritant when neat and I don't want it on my skin so have to use rubber gloves to pour it. No way would I use it as a regular cleaning agent and I certainly don't want my house smelling of it.

amusedbush · 03/01/2019 11:25

I use it when mopping the floors and I make up a diluted solution in a spray bottle to wipe down bins and surfaces.

I've run a few drops through a hot cycle to clean the washing machine too, and put cleaning cloths in a basin with a couple of drops and boiling water.

My favourite scent is "country garden".

Lucisky · 03/01/2019 11:38

You see, I don't think it smells that nice at all, just rather sickly and artificial. For getting your home smelling clean you really can't beat a few open windows and some fresh air, and at least that is free and not poisonous.

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 03/01/2019 11:42

We have two dogs and cats, so rarely use stuff like Zoflora simply because of the risk it poses to their health.

The best way to stop your house smelling badly is to clean it, hoover it and open all the windows. It might be January but it's still lovely to have fresh air.

MissWilmottsGhost · 03/01/2019 12:46

It's shit.

I bought it because MNetters were going on about how great it is but no, they are wrong.

It doesn't clean well, and the smell is seriously strong and makes me feel sick.
