Is it normal to feel this overwhelmed this frequently?

Honestly, I don’t know whether I need to get back on ADs (been on them previously for anxiety/OCD as well as low mood).

I often (daily) have moments of feeling overwhelmed....with parenting, with household chores, you name it. Constant questioning of whether I am fucking up my kids and general soul searching of what my life is about Confused

It’s worse when out of routine and school holidays (like now) so maybe I need to cut myself some slack.

Anyone else empathise? Or, if you have got everything sussed, what is your secret?

How are you doing today, OP?

Hi Melanie thanks for asking. That’s kind of you.

Had an anxious day today, which is a bit different to overwhelmed?!

To be fair to me, some family issues have developed over the last couple of days, which anyone would be finding difficult. So I’m not being too hard on myself.

Going to start reading the HSP book tonight and hopefully have some me time.

Do you/have you struggled with these things yourself?

How are others who have posted doing?

I always find Christmas a particularly stressful time-the pressure for everything to be perfect is just unrealistic! But I'm using a "happiness" calendar for January. Each day you have to do something like -find 3 things to look forward to, appreciate the skills others have etc. And things are ok.

Glad things are ok with you Melanie. The calendar sounds like a good idea.

My current priorities are:

  1. Believe in myself, I have the strength and skills to do this
  2. Bring some lightness of spirit (aka fun) into parenting and my life in general
  3. Make sure I get some me time, and do some meditation.

Keep chatting here folks, if it helps you Smile
