What jewellery would your 18 year old dd like for her birthday?

Am a bit stumped what to get my niece....she's mentioned jewellery but no idea what's cool for 18 year olds.

She's not really into designer labels and wouldn't expect anything expensive so maybe something a bit quirky, different (and not middle aged...).
Anyone any ideas?

What's the budget?

NoTeaNoShadeNoPinkLemonade · 02/01/2019 15:41

something from pandora?

My 18yr old daughter wanted ( and received!) a Pandora crown ring.

Bloody Mary metal
The great frog London (both of these are well loved for a silver / rock vibe)

Pandora - more mainstream, teens seem to particularly love their rings and earrings at the moment

Lots of well loved teen type brands on ASOS - they’ve got a sale on too so might find a bargain there

Generally speaking large silver or gold quality plain hoops always go down well and never go out of fashion.

My daughter has a wrist full of these mixed with silver bangles. danielladraper.com/shop/allc/category/sailing-ropes

Lisa Angel jewlerry goes down well with my late teen / early 20s neices, relatively reasonably priced as well so can get a few bits from the same collection to go together

Personally I’d look into getting something small custom made from an independent silversmith, I’ve come across loads on Instagram and a smaller ring or pendant won’t cost loads and you could get it custom monogrammed or something.

Thanks all - will check some of these out.

Am thinking necklace/bracelet as can't recall seeing her wear earrings/rings often.

Am also thinking maybe a couple of pieces at £20-30 each and maybe a nice passport holder I've seen for her Summer travels.

Does she want jewellery to wear a lot now (fashionable is fine), or jewellery to keep (slightly more classic)?

For an 18th I do think a keepsake is nice. Something with her birthstone?

dameofdilemma · 02/01/2019 16:07

Polka - not sure but she's said she doesn't want something too expensive as she'd be worried about losing it....

Pippi - sadly I think I've left it a bit late to get something custom made, need to order something in next day or so to get there in time...

My dd - but younger than yours - has this and it's much admired uk.pandora.net/en/gifts/jewellery-gift-sets/sparkling-strand-gift-set/B801011.html?cgid=promotion&src=categorySearch#start=9&cgid=promotion

Have a look at Nomination Bracelets. Much more practical than Pandora and Chamilia as the charms aren't hanging and heavy. The nice thing with them is as you add a charm you take out a link, so eventually you have a new bracelet to start with.

I do also think Pandora is quite a good choice for teens these days. You can buy a Pandora gift voucher and then she could choose something herself (and add some of her own money if she likes something that costs more than the voucher).

Mine (adores Pandora rings hates the charms) opted for a Tiffany pedant . She loves it - I don't think it looks what it cost.

Recently I gave my daughter an expensive ring, which I bought at segaljewellery.com/collections/rose-diamond-ring . She had long wanted this particular ring. It was expensive for me, but for 2 years I have accumulated the required amount. The main thing that she liked and she was happy.
