Just what the title says really!
How do I keep my house smelling fresh? I open the windows daily to let air in etc but how do I keep it smelling beautiful?

Wilkinsons candles are lovely, just as good as Yankee, small ones in a tin are £3 and a large one with 2 wicks only £4 the nicest is champagne and another scent,[forgotten what] have run out but getting more tomorrow, also fresh washing on radiators are good or fabric conditioner on small cloth or cotton pads

Speakout I should have put "Not too synthetic smelling" but I kind of thought it went without saying given that we were discussing synthetic smells in the first place Grin

Holiday I will dig out the name of the last rose one I had that I liked.

I have purchased a Prices reed diffuser today to see if they're any good & got the Tonka and Pink Pepper. It's lovely. Will see if it manages to scent a room properly or not....

My friend is obsessed with Zoflora and has a whole shelf of the different ‘flavours’. So everytime I go there my nose is assaulted by a different scent of disenfectant, all various grades of rankness. By all means use Zoflora to disinfect something, but it’s really horrible as a room scenter!

Prices reed diffuser gets a big thumbs up. It's in our open plan kitchen/diner but on returning to the house it smells lovely. Definitely got enough oomph to scent bigger rooms.

On the basis they're fairly reasonable they're a nice new find. I got the signature one but only paid £7 for it.

2 capfuls of vanilla extract in a hot oven for about an hour - makes my house smell beautiful and I look like a domestic goddess.
Genuinely cannot beat the smell - like a lingering bakery but not too extreme/synthetic.

Other than that I use lemon scented cleaning products, it's the only smell that doesn't give me a headache.
Citronella candles for something not too strong but that do a good job deodorising.

I open all windows every day for as long as I can to keep fresh air circulating, always pull back the bed covers so the beds can air out and leave the pillows by the windows.
I do use the fabric conditioner/water/baking powder concoction on my bed; but only with Comfort Pure - smells beautifully clean and fresh but not harsh at all.

Also, rugs and sofa cushions get hauled outside and beaten to remove any smells.
Steam mop tile floors, hoover and dusting daily.

I'm really careful not to use different smells in my house - the synthetic, chemical, mismatched smells are a recipe for disaster.

Lastly, a large sandlewood and sea salt candle that I burn periodically in the living room - another natural smell.
