Worrying tax credits letter

I've received this letter today, it's from compliance team.

I didn't receive any previous letters so 1. Not sure why they're saying they've sent me one and 2., don't know what they want me to send them because I don't have the letter that tells me what they want.

I will call when they open again. I'm really worried. 2018 has been rubbish enough as it is.

Anyone seen similar?

It's fine
Ring the number (I had to ring several times before I got through) and explain. The chap on the end when I did didn't seem bothered and was v understanding (mine was I couldn't get everything they asked for but I offered an alternative).

What sort of things are they wanting? Sad

It’s possibly childcare related.

They will want proof of childcare costs such as invoices or a payment statement from the nursery. Give them a call to confirm. I had this one year, sent it all off and got a letter back saying thanks everything is in order.
Its a random audit I think?

Oh that's fine, childcare costs are clearly stated as such in 'comments' every time I send over my minder the money.

I have invoices too. Although the first two payments were made with cash Sad Hopefully that doesn't bite me in the bum. It's on the invoice anyway

Don’t worry op, your childminder can write a letter to confirm you paid her in cash. It could be that they want a letter from her confirming you still use her as childcare. Put it out of your mind!

Hopefully it is just that. Makes thing a little awkward for me though, as I told her yesterday we would no longer be using her (I no longer have a job!) and therefore couldn't pay her any further

Well they might not ask for a letter but a few years ago I had to send in similar stuff and I remember getting a letter confirming how much I paid and the likes but if you have a receipt or something that will be fine. Don’t worry about it.

I also had one and it was absolutely fine, OP. I just had to confirm my c/care costs which meant I had to rake through invoices and tally it up then get back in touch with them with the figure.

I have learned my lesson though- every time I receive the c/care invoice I immediately add the figure to the spreadsheet.
