We're staying for a few days and would love any tips or ideas on things to do and places to eat in case I have missed something out. DSs are 7/8 .

Railway museum? I think hogworts express is there (or was...)

The Railway Museum is fab even if you don't like trains. The Castle Museum and Bus Tour are good too. We enjoyed walking the walls though you may need to wrap up warm. Tea at Betty's Tearooms is lovely.

The chocolate experience is surprisingly entertaining.

The museum has a great dinosaur exhibit, and the castle museum has an indoor Victorian street that my children loved.!

we really enjoyed the Lucky Cat Trail - you pick up a map (free of charge) at the glass shop, and go hunting for the cats hidden around the city. Great way to keep them interested as you stroll around.

Second the Castle Museum and The Chocolate Experience - both well worth a visit. There are two small museums in the walls on opposite sides of the city, so you can visit one, then walk round to the other if walking for its own sake doesn't appeal to the DC (ours like a purpose to a walk).
