Could I call the RAC out for this or would I be taking the piss?

Can't find a garage open today.

One of my headlight bulbs has fallen down into the headlight casing so even though it's still lit up because it's so out of place it doesn't light the road up when driving in the dark.

My bonnet won't open. I've had this a few months ago at the MOT and they had to order a new bonnet opening thing which cost me £70 and obviously hasn't fixed the issue.

I want to drive the car tonight in the dark and don't feel it's safe.

I don't have home recovery but I could drive to the gym a mile away and call them and go and have a workout while I wait. I've been a member for ten years and never called them.

Your car hasn't "broken down" though has it so imo not appropriate to use breakdown services for this.

Yes you would be taking the piss

Not a chance will they come out for this, and rightly so! Just go to sodding Halfords!

Breakdown cover is for many things, not all of which are literal “breakdowns”. If a car is unsafe to drive they will come out to help and driving with a headlight out is both unsafe and illegal.

It’s not for anyone on here to decide if it is a worthy reason - luckily you pay the RAC so it is their call.

Hooe you managed to get it sorted before dark.
