Am so so worried at the minute 😞.

Am 38. Have been taken Yasmin for years without issue. Only ever bled in my pill free week and it was always 'normal' in length and heaviness.

Some fibroids observed at scan with DS2 but nothing needed to be done.

For the last 4+ months I've been bleeding all over the place (figuratively and literally!).

The bleeding is period-like in behaviour. Starts off with because flow of fresh blood (clots etc dripping on floor) then changes to less, older blood then trails off. This can happen over the course of a few days then half a day with nothing then it starts again. Sometimes it goes from fresh blood to old blood to stopped over the course of just one day. It's more frequent than ever now with a day being the longest I'm going without any bleeding of any kind.

Am constantly bloated and sore. Have been using tampons so much it's made me sore. Am also knackered.

No weight loss. The opposite if anything.

Have kept taking the pill as didn't want to not be protected on the now rare occasions DP and I do try and have sex. Oh and sex seems to make me bleed when I'm not beforehand.

Stopped bleeding last night before bed. It just started again super suddenly and heavily. Am in tears and really quite worried now.

Have a GP appt on Wed. Should I be asking for anything in particular? New birth control? Any investigations?

Has anyone experienced similar or can advise?

Cake for anyone who's made it this far.

Did you have a blood test? And if not why not? The exhaustion in the afternoons is ringing very loud bells, I was called back for an emergency prescription of high grade iron within 10 minutes of my GP getting my bloods back when I went in with similar symptoms a few years ago.

The medication beginning with T might be Tranexamic Acid. It was wonderful, that and the iron got me sorted. Gynae did find fibroids, but since by that time the iron and Tranexamic acid had done their job and my body was running normally again, and the fibroids weren't particularly big or intrusive, we left them alone.

Just an update. Had my examination this morning with an absolutely lovely female doctor.

Ironically the bleeding has stopped for the last few days but everything looked healthy to the doctor. Had swabs taken, am booked for bloods this afternoon and have been referred for an ultrasound which will be within the next few weeks.

Feel somewhat reassured and calmer.

Thanks for all the advice. Will update as and when.
