What 'nibbles' do you take for a family event in a village hall?

Firstly, I fucking hate the term nibbles but not sure what else to call it other than snacks and I don't like that either!

We're going to a family NYE party in a village hall and everyone is taking food for the tables - not a buffet as such but the dreaded nibbles.

Other than crisps/bread sticks and dip, what would you take?

Fruit. Mango, pineapple, strawberries, grapes, etc. After all the stodge of Christmas, it's nice to have fresh fruits for pudding.

Food that can be eaten without getting sticky hands and stains on clothes, personally I wouldn't take mango or pineapple for that reason.

Not allocating a nibble to each guest sounds like a recipe for ending up with nothing but crisps or sausage rolls. Maybe ask the host for a suggestion.

Olives
Cheese and biscuits
Pate
Mini spring rolls
Mini quiche/pizza
Cocktail sausages

My SIL takes mustard and honey cocktail sausages. If I'm going she knows to take two lots Grin. I take banoffee pie.

It's the law in our family.

Sausage rolls. Not very sophisticated but always popular.

Little puff pastry tarts with pesto and olives etc on top.

Tomato and mozzarella on a cocktail stick or basil and Parma ham
