I have so many I can't even think of a specific one just now, even when I learn the right lyric I struggle to hear it that was. My dp purposely signs the wrong words to songs. It drives me crazy!

Pajamas, I used to hear 'Liverpool' too in that song!
My other one is Wham!, Club Tropicana. Until very recently I thought the lyric 'all that's missing is the sea' was ' all that swishing is the sea'.

Coldplay - Yellow, I initially thought he was singing 'you're stealing boats', in my defence the video is on a beach, maybe that was relevant (I'm reaching, I know...) Had to look up the lyrics as I thought that was probably not right. Yeah. It's 'your skin and bones' Blush

Continuing with the Wham theme, I thought the line in Last Christmas that says "face of a lover with a fire in his heart..." was "face of a lover with a foreigners heart...". I always thought it was very exotic! BlushGrin

Ah, now the few posts above referring to Fairytale Of New York have me confused. For those of you who mentioned Colwyn Bay, I thought it was "Galway Bay". I've been singing Galway Bay for years. Every day is a school day as they say!

Whenever I heard Gimme Gimme Gimme by Abba, I was puzzled by the line "it makes me so depressed to see the loo". Recently, I heard a version by Cher and finally discovered that Abba were depressed by the gloom, not a toilet.

About a year ago, my mind was blown when someone told me that the song I'd always known as Alone Again was in fact, Enola Gay.

In How Soon is Now, I used to think Morrissey was singing "I am the sun and the air" and I didn't think anything of it, because Morrissey isn't exactly known for being modest. Of course, it was "I am the son and the heir". Duh.

Less popular song than some but I hear Shawn Mullins' Shimmer as "sharing with a sweaty nose" instead of "sharing with us what he knows"

You just blew my mind. I smugly correct DS2 when he says the lyrics are “I spell Christmas with a capital C”, telling him it’s “snow is falling it’s the capital C” instead. Xmas Blush

His version makes far more sense anyway!
