Anyone else having a nothing day?

I never ever ever have a nothing day, but I'm having one today.
Kids are playing nicely by themselves, I'm in bed surfing and slobbing. The only things I've been up for are loo, coffee & take washing out of machine. I'm not ill. I just cba tda and I'm not feeling guilty about it for the first time eva. Ok, I admit, I do feel a teensy bit guilty.
Anyone else guilt free doing nothing today?

Yep!
Dds are only dressed because they high jacked my bath. (Thanks dh...)
I'm in bed now eating after eights. 👌

IWantBlairWaldorfCurls · 29/12/2018 14:17

Yes, we are too. DC are- wait for it- PLAYING TOGETHER Shock and DH is batch cooking. Having the most simple dinner tonight (pasta in tomato sauce with crusty bread) and I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to it after so many roasts.

Only slight problem is that our bin collection was due Thursday and it hasn't been picked up since. Have given up hope for it to be collected today and we've another two bags of rubbish. Do not want to do a tip run Xmas Sad

icbatda · 29/12/2018 14:18

Yay! Thanks for joining me. Oooh sounds great! Are you planning on staying in all day?

tinydancer88 · 29/12/2018 14:19

Me!

Still in bed, been awake since 7 - enjoying peace and quiet, drinking coffee, reading and watching Netflix. I think the last week or so of constant socialising, eating rich food, and rushing about has made me just want to retreat!

ShowerTheHorse · 29/12/2018 14:19

Oh yes. I had a bath this morning and then got changed into new pyjamas. I've just had a McDonald's and now I'm going upstairs to watch Netflix/nap.

icbatda · 29/12/2018 14:20

Phew, I thought I was the only lazy slob in town Grin
Kids are not even murdering each other and are not even using technology, so why spoil it?

Ratbagcatbag · 29/12/2018 14:21

Me me me.
I've dragged myself out of bed at 1 after finishing some maltesers and a book.
My daughter is at her dads until tomorrow afternoon.
I've literally fed the cat, lit a nice candle and put the washer on.
I'm not getting out of PJs today. Im going to eat something basic later and read a book and watch films.
I will sort decorations down tomorrow.

Enjoy a nothing day. I think they are fab.

DavetheCat2001 · 29/12/2018 14:23

Me!!!!

At in-laws until tomorrow.

DS happily playing on his Nintendo Switch, DD pottering around with grandad, OH asleep on sofa and I've snuck away to lie on the bed and surf!

We're off for a pizza and panto in a couple of hours so not feeling too guilty.. even though I am a little bit.. its a nice sunny day and we are in the middle of the countryside, but I cannit be arsed to go out.

We all deserve a slob day, right??

ScouseQueen · 29/12/2018 14:23

Yes and loving it! Have had so much to do lately. Still in PJs. Not going anywhere! Watching TVand hoovering up food.

LEMtheoriginal · 29/12/2018 14:23

Can i join? Me and dd slobbing on our phones and dp in the bath. Was going to go into town to buy a dairy but can't drag myself from the fire. Dogs quite happy too

Anyone else having a nothing day?
icbatda · 29/12/2018 14:31

Is that a Dairy Milk bar, LEM? Whatever it's inspired me to open some Christmas chocolate I was going to give to someone else but not seen them

notacooldad · 29/12/2018 14:34

Why would you feel guilty?Confused

NightOwl101 · 29/12/2018 14:34

We're doing the same. We're all I'll. dogs have been walked and now we're doing nothing. DD is opening new toys making a mess and I might put some washing on but that's about as productive today is going to get

Nquartz · 29/12/2018 14:36

We went to Tesco this morning, since lunch it's been Lego & faffing on phones (DH & I).
DH has just cleaned the bathroom & I cleaned the loo when I went earlier, not planning much else until tea.
Love days like this, it helps that DD got loads of new Lego for Christmas so she's been happily playing for 2 hours Shock

Fabulouslyfatatfifty · 29/12/2018 14:41

Me - now a nothing afternoon. I went into work for a couple of hours and am now watching Chicken Run with DD and the dog, eating my advent calendar chocolate that I haven’t eaten since the 7th 😳.

I have just learnt about the green button function on my TV! Whoever knew such a thing existed.

DonnaDarko · 29/12/2018 14:41

We went out to do the weekly shop this morning, but I just woke up from a 2 hour nap :D DP and DS are still snoozing. My plans are to do nothing for the rest of the day! Curry for dinner tonight, nom nom.

I don't feel guilty at all. It's nice to switch off.

icbatda · 29/12/2018 14:42

@notacooldad I don't cope well with doing nothing and prefer to be busy and therefore distracted from the things I don't want really to be thinking about (anxiety related). So the fact I'm doing this today I look at as a success.
I also have shit loads to do Grin but ignoring it

Littlelambpeep · 29/12/2018 14:47

I am going to have a doing nothing afternoon. Cleaned the fridge (was really horrible) did grocery shop and cooked dinner... but that's me. New book Netflix and bath !!

Angie169 · 29/12/2018 14:48

I started with the best of intentions to do some batch cooking tidy the house a bit and do some shopping .
Spent way to long on here this morning, forgot to take meat out of the freezer so no cooking done, went shopping got coffee ( expensive nice one from Wittards ) and some meat .
Walked past a pub I have not been in for years , turned around and went in . It was nice and quiet untill a few mins ago but a group of 8 or 9 30ish yr old noisy lads have just walked in playing a drinking game which means they are going to be very drunk very quick .
Finishing my drink and going

LEMtheoriginal · 29/12/2018 14:51

??dairy milk

Crazyladee · 29/12/2018 14:53

Me too!

That's what I love about Xmas week.. Lots of guilt free nothing days. And I never have nothing days either.

Today I have
Taken the dogs for a walk
Showered and changed into comfy leggings and jumper
Wearing no make up to give my skin a rest
Lit the fire
Picked at cheese and biscuits lazily left on the side on a cheeseboard
Watched a film
About to crack open a bottle of wine

Currently deciding what film or Netflix series to watch next. Or maybe I will read for a bit on my kindle.

DH is at work and I have the house to myself so even better!

I love Xmas week as is all relaxing and guilt free and the house looks lovely with the tree and all the twinkly lights. Can't understand the people who have ripped their tree and decorations down on Boxing Day as its all over with!!

Upsy1981 · 29/12/2018 14:54

DD has gone out with friends, I have cleaned the kitchen and mopped the floor this morning, now I'm on the sofa catching up on a bit of TV I'd recorded. Its nice.

bertiesgal · 29/12/2018 14:58

We are chilling out today. It’s been mad and fun but ready for a day of of rest.

In fact, DD who is normally perpetually busy said “mummy are we doing nothing today?”. I was fully expecting a moan when I said yes but instead I got a “good”.

I think we all need a wee rest 😊

RedForShort · 29/12/2018 14:59

was trying too.

But the husband is around. he's a big weirdo and has to be dressed once he's out of bed. He's usually aghast at pyjama wearing during the day. Eventually he'll round up our offspring and persuades them to get dressed. I then also get dressed in solidarity.

(Though I've put on tracksuit bottoms. Rebellious to the core. Ha!)

YahBasic · 29/12/2018 15:01

We’ve just bought a subscription to NowTV so we are cuddled up on the sofa with a load of nibbly bits out watching films.

Had a walk this morning and really need to do some washing/put the rubbish out, but we just can’t be arsed!
