What's with the mammoth posts these days?

Has anyone else noticed a big increase in the number of ultra long posts about fairly straightforward issues? Totally puts me off reading/engaging with them. What's changed?

OP posts:

I have noticed too. Usually in Relationships.

Singlenotsingle · 28/12/2018 17:57

I take one look and move on.

Marmite27 · 28/12/2018 17:58

Probably because you get accused of drip feeding if you don’t include every nuance.

boringlyboring · 28/12/2018 17:58

People get far too mad over ‘drip feeds’, so OPs feel the need to put their life story in straight away.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 28/12/2018 17:59

Yes I have noticed this
A lot of essays
Definitely has changed > there are a lot more than there used to be

Skim and hide. My new technique!

CookPassBabtridge · 28/12/2018 18:29

Yep I don't even glance, can't be doing with them.

BentNeckLady · 28/12/2018 18:35

They’re probably all by the same person.

MepsiPax · 28/12/2018 18:48

Just out of interest,OP,what is your definition of 'a mammoth post'? I tend to lose interest if something is more than about 3 paragraphs long (possibly because I get confused Grin). I do appreciate that some posts are going to be longer if the OP doesn't want to be accused of drip feeding.
