About revolting unfit for purpose house?

It’s not just that it isn’t clean (although it isn’t, it’s filthy, beyond filthy really.) But also nothing works properly. Toilet doesn’t flush properly. Lights don’t work.

I have helped before and cleaned it but it just ends up back to how it was and I can’t keep doing it. Plus things are so bad it’s sort of gone beyond a bit of housework really.

Whose house is it? Do they need additional support from local authority?

It’s a relatives - and no, I wouldn’t have thought so. They work full time in a respectable job. I think there may be some HFA there but not so support is ‘needed’.

A major de clutter, only keep the essentials

Get a cleaner in once or twice a week if budget permits

Hire a handy person to do all the odd jobs in one go.

If they're otherwise fit and healthy, leave them be. Some people choose to live in ways most of us find unacceptable.

Could they be depressed?
