Is long life milk cheaper than fresh?

My maths is really bad!

Long life milk I get from ALDI is 55p for 1L

Fresh milk I buy is £1.09p for 2.272L

I'm guessing the long life is cheaper but like I said, I am terrible at maths and feel a bit embarrassed asking on here Blush

Your fresh milk is 48p a litre.

No, the fresh is cheaper at less than 50p per litre.

long life is 55p per litre and fresh is 54.5p for 1.136 litre. So fresh is cheaper.

1.09/2.272 is something I'd need to do on a calculator, but if I was in the shop I'd work it out like this:

55p a litre is £1.10 for 2L (double it). Fresh milk is less than £1.10 (so less than double the price) but is more than 2L (more than double the volume) so must be cheaper per litre. That way I don't have to do long division etc.

Thank you all so much! I didn't realise it was cheaper. I've been buying it, thinking I'm saving money. I will stick to fresh milk in future but keep a couple of long life milk for emergencies.
