Expensive skincare

Is it worth it and if so, please may I have recommendations?
Went shopping with dd today and she got colour matched for a foundation and the assistant looked at me and said my skin looked dehydrated. Using a Boots own cream but wondering whether to invest in something else.

I actually really like No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Day and Night creams. They are usually on 3 for 2 so not horrendously expensive. I do also use an Elizabeth Arden night cream which is lovely and Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Oil which is fabulous.

I use different serums too. I like to mix and match.

My skin's much more comfortable since I adopted the Korean approach of using several layers of hydrating products. It doesn't have to be expensive because you only use tiny amounts so the bottles last months and months. I double cleanse using first oil and a hot cloth (Aldi's cream cleanser knock-off of Liz Earle is good too) then one pump of Bioderma gel, which I wash off with water. Pat dry. One pump of [https://www.beautius.com/products/sake-skincare-lotion-high-moist Sake Skincare Lotion Hight Moist]], pat on, allow to dry. Five drops of hyaluronic acid lotion, pat on, allow to dry. Then I use a Neutrogena moisturiser, which is on offer for £6 in Sainsburys and Tesco at the moment. It's a knock-off of Clarins Moisture Surge and highly rated in skincare groups, apparently. If I feel I need it I top the whole lot off with a very small amount of Aldi's moisturiser, but that can be a bit greasy.

My skin was assessed at some walk-up marketing place last winter and the consultant reckoned it was the most hydrated she'd seen all day. Didn't stop her trying to sell me moisturiser, of course.

Sorry, that should be Sake Skincare Lotion Hight Moist and serves me right for posting hyperlinks without previewing.

I’ve used Clinique Three Step for years now and I’ve stopped trying anything else because I just go back to Clinique. I’ve been curious about Liz Earle for a while though.

I swear by elemis and Liz earle, they are price but worth it, you don't need much to go a long way and the products last.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 28/12/2018 23:34

Now you see, I love Liz Earle but found Elemis pro-collagen did nothing for me. Far too watery and lotion like for my dry and aged skin. Smells great though.
It really is a case of what works for one doesn't for another.
