What are you spending your Christmas money on?

cheesenpickles · 27/12/2018 18:08

Currently racking my brains for things I could do with. I was lucky enough to get £50 from my dad for Christmas and £100 from my in-laws (they're fab!)

Already got a new coat and the pair of boots I was after for Christmas. Any suggestions?

I was thinking either a leather jacket or stocking up on new jeans/tops etc.

What will you be treating yourself to?

Coach handbag in the sale.

Reythelastjedi · 27/12/2018 21:36

A coffee machine. Very excited.

MistyMinge · 27/12/2018 21:36

I've got about 250 to spend. Think I might treat myself to a handbag. Bought a lovely Coach handbag in the sales two years ago, fancy a new one. I don't really splurge on many things for myself but I do like a good quality leather handbag. Liking the Sezane farrow bag

I’ve got £250 and no idea what to get. I was half thinking of putting it towards a new TV as ours is 11 years old and am worried it might give up the ghost when we can’t afford to replace it but it feels so wrong to discard one that still works well.

AndhowcouldIeverrefuse · 27/12/2018 21:41

Wow. This thread is a revelation. No cash here, in fact I'm racking my brains to work out how to balance my books until pay day. I was walking around town yesterday and looking at people in the shops and wondering how they manage to have enough cash to go to the sales.

OrdinarySnowflake · 27/12/2018 21:48

I got £60, and some John Lewis vouchers. The JL vouchers are joint with DH so we'll spend them on something for the house, not sure what though. The money, I don't know! same relative gave me the same amount last year and I bought a coat in the sales, this year there's nothing particularly I want/need. I might see if I can find some ankle boots in the sale, but it will manly be buying for the sake of it, which seems pointless, but if I just put the money in my purse, it'll go on little bits and be 'wasted', and they want to know what I'm getting...

maybe makeup?

HairyToity · 27/12/2018 21:52

Mine will just go on general living expenses. Very dull.

Si1ver · 27/12/2018 21:56

That's where mine went last year @IPokeBadgers, 36 weeks pregnant this year. Fingers crossed for you.

meow1989 · 27/12/2018 21:58

I'm treating myself to a Cambridge satchel handbag that another poster linked a few weeks ago!

GiantHulkHands · 27/12/2018 21:58

Ten sessions with a personal trainer!

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 27/12/2018 21:58

I bought a fantastic pair of walking boots reduced by £50 to £80.They will last me years and years and are much needed

Scifi101 · 27/12/2018 22:11

@GiantHulkHands how much do personal trainers cost a session?

nastyhoneybadger · 27/12/2018 22:12

I'm getting my teeth whitened! I've been dithering about it for ages but I've an unexpected cash gift from my parents so feel I can justify it now. Not going full-on Hollywood smile but just a shade or two whiter.

Scifi101 · 27/12/2018 22:13

Where did you get your walking boots from iamthemummy?

GiantHulkHands · 27/12/2018 22:20

Hi @Scifi101

My Personal Trainer charges thirty five quid an hour but I can spread the lessons out, one a fortnight, so it lasts a few months. She also gives me a lesson plan to do twice a week too. I feel much better since going to see her.

ShaniceDanielle · 27/12/2018 22:23

Mine was spent in the next size up clothes for my little one baby milk and dinners happy days

makingmiracles · 27/12/2018 22:23

We were very lucky to have received £675 in total plus vouchers, slightly boringly we are hoping to move soon and we totalled up with a month so rent in advance, moving van And cooker installation we’d need £1000. With the money we’d already saved we’re now up to £905 so feeling very happy well be good to go if anything suitable turns up.
Vouchers will go on tops for me(I have 3 Blush ) and jeans for dp (he also only has three pairs) 2019 we plan to pay down debt so this has given us a head start now we’re not trying to I save at the sameness time.

YouBetterWORK · 27/12/2018 22:49

A spa day. I will be me. Not mummy or wife (although these are nice) or employee for 1 day. I will toddle off for a day of jacuzzi jets, saunas, a massage and hopefully a facial too (sooo many new lines since motherhood), I will drink some fizz and read the Michelle Obama book on my kindle. It'll be awesome Grin

AnnabelleLecter · 27/12/2018 23:17

Paid balance on our winter holiday.
DH bought a new jacket.
I bought some new boots and wool socks.
Put a few hundred in savings.

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 27/12/2018 23:19

Scifi101- I got them from Tiso.

whiteworld · 27/12/2018 23:22

A spa day!

MrsFionaCharming · 27/12/2018 23:32

I’m starting uni in January, so I’m hoping to get a new laptop.

If I have any money left over, I’d like a sports bra and matching leggings.

IPokeBadgers · 28/12/2018 18:35

@Si1ver
Thank you. Who knows what 2019 will bring. Best wishes for the remainder of your pregnancy, wishing you a safe and healthy birth and baby xx

Scifi101 · 28/12/2018 22:18

Thankyou @IamMummyhearmeROAR

Scifi101 · 28/12/2018 22:20

@GiantHulkHands

Thankyou I got some money for Xmas from my parents and am thinking of using it to try and lose a stone after losing 6 by myself.

Do you work with the trainer indoors or outdoors?
