What do I want for my birthday breakfast?

40th birthday is Saturday. DH asked me what I want for breakfast but, put on the spot, I just asked for a rasher/bacon sandwich! There has to be a better option.

It has to be something DH can cook with a 2 & 5 year old to entertain at the same time. He’s already told me he’s planning on making me mimosas!

Eggs Benedict! (he can buy the hollandaise sauce in M&S if he's nervous about this whilst minding the little ones)

Doje · 27/12/2018 16:22

Eggs royale!

Smoked salmon and cream cheese on sesame bagels, or the bacon but on American style pancakes or French toast with syrup and berries.

Needallthesleep · 27/12/2018 16:40

Sweet corn fritters (he can pre make the mix), with rashers of bacon and crushed avocado on top

PinkHeart5914 · 27/12/2018 16:41

Pancakes with maple syrup 😃 and a glass of champagne

cliffdiver · 27/12/2018 16:48

Eggs Royale.

HotInWinter · 27/12/2018 16:50

American pancakes, bacon and maple syrup.
Or English pancakes, with cheese and bacon rolled up inside.

Bacon is a good call. If just a bacon sandwich, consider adding a fried egg with runny yolk in there.

Poached eggs with asparagus & hollandaise - yum

AdaColeman · 27/12/2018 17:06

Naice ham, cheese, butter and bread, pain aux raisins, croissants & jam.
No cooking, just lay out on plates.

If he wants to be especially creative, jab a sharp knife through the croissants and slide a finger of dark chocolate into the slit, then heat for about 15 minutes.
Fresh fruit salad or slices of pineapple would be a good addition, you can get them ready prepared, dress up with a splosh of liqueur if you have it.

Have a lovely birthday! Wine Thanks

Any or all of the above and then take the DCs to the park and tire them out so you get to eat your breakfast in bed in peace and quiet

ILoveDaveGrohl · 27/12/2018 17:13

Poached eggs, really really crispy bacon, black pudding, fried cubed potatoes and tomato relish (from a jar)

Gotstuckwiththisname · 27/12/2018 17:14

Pain au chocolat, churros, croissants.
Yoghurt & honey.
Nutella
Biscoff spread.

Julianaa · 27/12/2018 17:15

I would have fresh coffee, fresh fruit salad, and then a poached egg with avocado. Seeing as it's a birthday I'd add a toasted bagel too.

Peopleplease · 27/12/2018 17:28

I like the sound of the corn fritters!

We do fresh coffee with scrambled egg and smoked salmon most weekends. I just can’t do poached egg - I can’t stand runny yolks, I can barely look when DH has them!

We had pancakes Christmas Day and will have them tomorrow as it’s DD2 2nd birthday.
