Any NHS band 2s here, or other staff who know about band 2 pay?

Do you know what a band 2 gets paid for specific shifts? Say, how much for a Thursday long day, or a Saturday night, that kind of thing? I know what the yearly wage is, just not how it's broken down.

Or is there a specific formula I can use to work it out?

Not sure exactly but you can go to NHS employers websites - payment sections, then you can get more for working weekends and nights.

For an 8-6 shift I get around £75 on a weekday, £90on a Saturday and £100 on a Sunday. That’s a bank rate though not a specific band 2 and so slightly higher than normal as I’m bank only at the moment due to training. I work in theatres so different shifts to wards and don’t do long days generally. That’s a 9.5 hour shift as apples to the 12.5 our ward staff do. I’m not sure what time you get the night allowance from (our night shifts are 21:15-07:45) so might go up slightly at say 7ish.

My trust also is in a high cost of living area so we get a 5% HCA allowance.

Hope that helps a bit. It’s a complicated business working out nhs pay.

It also depends on how many hours you work. I work 15 hrs/week. If I work extra days I am just paid at the standard rate until I have worked 37.5hrs (so full time hours). Even on weekends. (my hours only run between 7.30am- 6pm so no enhanced early/late shifts)

I'm a band Band 2. I may not really understand your query but you don't get paid per shift/hour you get paid per monthly hours worked/salary. Currently it works out about £8.93 an hour.
I get my full time (37.5) salary then enhancements for working weekends/overtime. About £60 ish extra on a Saturday and a little bit more on a Sunday. You get another enhancement for working nights. You should ring your HR department to find all these out for definite though.

Thanks for the replies.

I found this (the screenshot) so I think I'm a bit clearer about what I'm asking. I have a basic wage, and I think that is what I would receive if I worked, say, 9 to 5 in outpatients. But because I'll be on a ward, I'll get extra for some shifts or part of shifts.

So if I divide my wage by 37.5 to get my basic hourly wage, then add on various percentages for nights or weekends, I should get the rough wage for each specific shift.

Then if I change jobs to outpatients (or any Monday to Friday daytime only shifts) then I'll get my basic wage only.

I think that's right, isn't it?
