Anyone not on social media?

I think I want (need?) to come off social media. I think that we lose so much of our lives to it (well I do), not posting but just mindlessly scrolling through Instagram and Facebook etc.

I really don’t need to see an Xmas pic of Chris from school and his family. I don’t know this person really. Haven’t seen or spoken to them for 30 years. WTF!

There seem to be some things (such as one of DS’s clubs that communicate with parents through a Facebook group but I could probably get around that somehow.

Will I feel liberated by removing this distracting mindless shit from my life?

I came off Facebook for 2 years about 3 years ago. My mental health improved. I came back on it but my life doesn't revolve around Facebook & my baby / 2 year old and 4 year old need attention so I hardly went on it when I did come back.

I've since come off it again cos my mental health has deteriorated & going on it was making me suicidal. I still have suicidal thoughts but not as often. Without it I don't know what events are happening round where I live & have no one to tell me cos I don't see anyone but parents still took their children to events before Facebook came on the scene. And there's websites to look at too. I can live without it & not be missed from it Smile

If you're old enough to remember life before Facebook, you'll know where I'm coming from Smile
