Most passive aggressive remark of the day

My family are full of them, especially on big occasions. Mine was from FIL eating the Xmas dinner I'd made- "this is actually quite nice... don't take this the wrong way Tonsil, but I didn't think you'd be capable". Thanks a bunch. Anyone else care to share?

What a rude fucker. What did you say?!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 25/12/2018 22:55

I showed my mum a hat I'd knitted myself which is lush and I'm very proud of. (First knitting ever.)

Her comment? " Would you like me to teach you to sew properly?"

Urgh.

Ex-FiL once, 'Well, you've really made it hard for yourself'. Eh? It's a perfectly nice roast dinner.

MaisyPops · 25/12/2018 22:57

'Oh Maisy. I can't believe you're eating so much. It always astounds me how much you eat. I couldn't eat half that without being full... ' - from a relative who has an unhealthy attitude to food (E.g.
food as a treat / makes a big deal out of how they couldn't possibly eat anything) and likes to make lots of pointed comments about my size usually under faux concern that I'm 'wasting away'

These are brilliant. To be fair to FIL he absolutely meant no harm and I was aware he wouldn't have a very high opinion of my cooking to begin with.

You can always rely on my grandma to make some remark, for example, that cardigan will be lovely: when it fits you!
