iPad in cot - please tell me I’m not a totally shit mother

DS2 is at tail end of chicken pox, after 2 hrs of trying to get him to bed with him hitting, biting me etc I have given up and put an iPad in his cot, to give my back a rest if nothing else. We have been stuck in house for 5 days and we are both going crazy with cabin fever - pretty shit Christmas

Every night -no. But when they are ill, you’re knackered and everyone is upset, my view is you try absolutely anything! You’re not totally shit, you’re creatively coming up with a temporary solution to give everyone a bit of relief. Well done!

He is currently running round living room terrorising the cats because he won’t fucking go to sleep and I am losing my mind

Let him stay up a bit, but make sure he gets (slightly) cold e.g. have a story on the sofa, but not wrapped up too warmly. When you pop him back in bed, his temperature will rise and this will help trigger the sleep.

When dd hit her back teeth coming in combined with 18 month sleep regression all that got her to sleep were YouTube people unwrapping and opening plastic egg toy things. This lasted for about a month.
