What comment/moment has made Christmas for you?

For me, it was 6yo DS sighing contentedly when MIL and BIL arrived 20mins after my parents stayed and saying "now everyone is here and they'll be here for ages and ages". Yes, DS, they will be here until Thursday which isn't what I'd necessarily chose but comments like that make me realise why I do chose to do Xmas like this.
And then seeing DMum and MIL, who have nothing in common, giggling together over something after a bit too much champagne before lunch. They each hosted Xmas for decades and both had elderly relatives to ferry home at the end of the day so never had the chance to have a mid-day drink so I always enjoy seeing them having fun and now make cocktails that I know they will like and may not fully explain quite how potent some of the ingredients are

My mum getting teary and emotional because she’s so proud of how my DSs are turning out (16 and 13)

We’ve not had it massively easy in the last few years and she’s been worried about how they might cope.

Proper parent love being expressed and it was really overwhelming for all of us

We’re doing Christmas Day proper tomorrow - mum is working today, but she gave me and my grandma one present each to open today. I’m thrilled with mine, but the best bit?

Seeing my grandma’s face when she opened the new Kindle I got her. I’ve been in and out of work over the years, this was the first time I could afford to buy a present like that. It was amazing.

We’ll do the rest of the presents, and Christmas dinner, tomorrow - and I’ve got my mum things I hope she likes, so I get to do it all again tomorrow :)

Ds 14 is with his dad this year he's just text me "Hi Mum how was your day? I've had a great day and I hope you have too". I did see them to open gifts this morning and they left at 10am, thought it was lovely that he'd been thinking of me. Some teens are lovely ❤️

A strange one from me! Younger son (15) has been in an awful mood for a good while, complains of random knee and hip pains, sleeping over 12 hours a night if undisturbed.

He has been 5 foot 7 (same as me) for nearly a year and was definitely 5 foot 7 last month.

Today he’s 5 foot 10.5 !!!
