It's probably dizzy, poor thing!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/12/2018 16:36

I think that's the only option Xmas Grin

I'm in hysterics, we have so far a pissed turkey and cherry soup for dinner 😂

I've seen several cookery programmes where turkeys are roasted upside down as the fat drips into the breast making it very moist.

DBN1 · 25/12/2018 16:43

Cherry soup?? Wtaf is that?! Shock

HopeHopity · 25/12/2018 16:50

This is like the blue/gold dress isn't it...GrinGrin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/12/2018 17:11

It was supposed to be cranberry sauce DBN only the veg box sent mistletoe as a substitution. So I tried to improvise with cherries. Only the cherries refused to turn into a sauce. They just made soup instead.

I need another drink Xmas Grin

Crazyfrog007 · 25/12/2018 18:02

😂😂😂 This is amazing.

GlassLantern · 25/12/2018 18:37

It needs foil And bacon on it. Whichever way up it is

TheTroublesomestTribble · 25/12/2018 18:38

You're meant to roast it breast side down though!

FleeceDetective · 25/12/2018 18:41

I think it needs to be in a more supportive roasting tray with sides, not a flat baking tray.

Your turkey is perilously on the loose in that oven.

CrispbuttyNo1 · 25/12/2018 18:55

It definitely needed to be in a roasting dish of some kind

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/12/2018 19:04

Yeah, I think a roasting dish might be a good idea, it kept trying to make a run for it! And it was verrry hard to keep draining off the fat.

So to summarise, with a bit of detective work and thinking back, it did definitely start breast side down, with foil. (I clearly remember the foil). Then I turned it what I think was the right way up for the last half an hour to brown the breast. Only dh then got me muddled and you all got me muddliered And by the time I'd flipped it round and round I had no idea which way it was and then it tried to run away.

DBN if you know which side is upside down and which side is downside up then you are very very welcome next year Xmas Grin

It was delicious but I need a lie down after all of that wrestling. And I didn't need to,really carve it cos the legs gave up just fell off. But I can't lie down cos we are now apparently about to play trivial pursuit.

Next year I'll consult the mn committee before committing to turning the oven on Xmas Grin

MissWilmottsGhost · 25/12/2018 19:11

It's breast side up in both pics.

GallicosCats · 25/12/2018 19:17

Turkey is absolutely delicious when cooked breast side down anyway; it stops the meat drying out. Hope it was yummy. Smile

MrsScamander · 25/12/2018 19:29

I have no idea, but your Turkey looks like Lord Voldemort Xmas Shock

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/12/2018 19:37
