Please help! Crippled with anxiety

Can barely stop shaking to type this. I have a set of serious chronic illnesses and am mostly bedridden. DH is disabled, DS1 (adult) has ASD with regular meltdowns, DS2 (adult) has come home for 2 days. I can’t stop crying and shaking. Feel terrible. Don’t have anything like Valium in the house, am on Citalopram. Can anyone suggest anything I can take? Can’t exercise as that would be one remedy. Feel so ill.

If you have any strong pain killers such as co-codamol, they have a sedative effect. Don't take more than two though.

Sit down, take deep breaths and maybe have a drink. Just one!

You'll be fine. Get the others to help you.

Have a good Christmas - it is overwhelming for lots of people, so much is expected but it is really only another day with some nice touches.

Stop for a moment and try to relax your breathing using exercises like [https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4e3Csho8CBw this one]]

Take one step at a time.

Have you got any tea with valerian in or chamomile? I find both very helpful when I’m an anxious wreck. Have you been able to remember to take your citalopram regularly? Also, trying to cut down on caffeine if you can? Anxiety is an absolute bastard. Sending you love and strength x

Thank you so much, you are all so kind. We may have some chamomile tea in the cupboard.

DH has just got the dinner ready and I can’t stop shaking and crying. Will have to stay in bed so they can have a nice time together. Spoiling Christmas for everyone.

Moving forward can you make a GP appointment in the new year for help with your anxiety? Have you had counselling or cbt for your anxiety issues?

when you can get some rescue remedy drops or pastilles they work wonders for me

Ahh, gurl, I've just read this. Anxiety is a bitch. I hope you have been able to get through today-it's nearly done now and tomorrow, hopefully, will be a bit easier.
Sending hugs, hand-holds and positive vibes your way Flowers

Ah @GurlwiththeCurl I hope you've started to feel a bit better now? I also suffer and although I just about managed to get through most of the day it got to about 7pm and I had to hide in the bedroom and cry for a bit. It's so hard isn't it Thanks I actually did what pp suggested and took two solpadeine max and the codeine calmed me down. I do have prescribed antipsychotics but they just send me into a deep sleep so no good for daytime. Really need to get back to the GP for beta blockers for this. Have you tried them op? They might help in future. Best wishes and solidarity hand holding.
