One crap thing in 2018 and one good

I'd like to add that me almost dying was not due to them wanting to take the dish off the menu. Unrelated.

Bad: FIL died
Good: dss and his partner welcomed a beautiful baby boy

Bad thing - miscarried a long awaited for baby after fertility treatment, left with physical agony afterwards (subluxation leading to back pain and spastic bowel) and disciplined at work due to making people feel awkward

Good thing: sought a second opinion, did another embryo transfer, expecting a baby in February 2019 on the date I realised I was losing the baby in 2018. Had a really healthy pregnancy so far

Crap thing : Tripped over and dislocated my elbow & tore the ligaments. Had to have a full arm cast, then brace then lots of physio. Was off work nearly 2 months.

Good thing : Got promoted at work

Good = got married 😍

Bad = finding out my tubes may be blocked by fibroids, so baby making may be difficult / may not be possible :(

Bad: DM died
Good: I got married to my amazing DH

Bad - started year with DC2 threatening self-harm.
Good - prompt interventions (thank you NHS!) and much effort later, DC2 is in much happier place.

Bad - seeing my DF health continue to decline. This Christmas matters a lot.

Good - I’m lucky to have a few - got my degree, went to Africa with my dd for a month and moved to a new job which is a really positive career move.

Bad thing - endless Brexshit stuff on the news, bored of it.

Good thing - DD started a new wonderful school and she loves it.

Bad - Mum died and I didn't make it in time.
Good - walked in the Himalaya.

Bad: my Dad died - not unexpected but still very sad. I hope I helped him enough in his last weeks.
Good: got our rescue cat in February. The most beeyootiful, chilled mog. I luffs him.

Bad thing: My Mom has been diagnosed with dementia

Good thing: I got a double promotion at work

Bad Thing: Mum passing away in September.
Good Thing: I got out of a shitty relationship with a narcissistic arsehole!

Bad - had a miscarriage and still not over it.

Good - our toddler is happy and healthy and the light of my life

FIL died, DS2 was born.

It's been a busy year!

2018 has been such a shitty year for my family and I - I just hope 2019 is better because I can't do another like this.

Bad - IVF failed
Good - made a new friend.

Bad- My favourite uncle, who was like a dad, passed away suddenly just a few months ago.

Good - Made it to a term through my intensive course whilst balancing DS needs. I didn’t think I would have been able to do it.

Good thing: DD got into a good secondary school and we’ve all been in good health.

Bad thing; my teeth. Crumbling and expensive to sort out.

Thank you for this thread. Sobering to see this is what a year boils down to.

I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic in March which scared the life out of me and has led to some serious changes of lifestyle - not all welcome ones.

Two of my sons got married so I have two lovely daughters-in-law

Awful thing - my cousin died suddenly and unexpectedly in her mid 40's leaving her DD behind

Good thing - trip to NYC to celebrate our silver wedding

Good thing: massive promotion, DH going part time l.

Bad thing: failed IVF trying for number 2.

New cycle booked for the new year though, onwards and upwards!
