Hi everyone,am very stressed at the moment,my daughter she is 3 years old she keeps having cold symptoms,I didn't realise that she has a dustmite allergy until I took her to France when we were on holiday and they did some tests which reveals she was allergic to them.
Doctors now in the uk keep ignoring me and tell me she will have asthma in the future but there is nothing they can do to confirme it,I want to prevent that from happening but won't explain much I really lost faith on them to be honest as they won't take me seriously, now my daughter condition is worst and I have no one to ask about advise such as what's the best matress protector I should get,and what kind of dehumidifier I could get etc ......,I tried to do some reasearch online but I feel most of it it's advertising .
Am very stressed and my toddler sleeping and cough is getting worst even the inhaler is not doing much,!!!!!what should I do PLEASE HELP MEt

Can you not contact the French?

A vax air purifier may help.

Ds has dustmite allergy, his consultant said
to wash everything fabric at 60 degrees, including curtains, teddies, pillows, duvets or freeze for 48hrs
Replace carpet with flooring that can be steam cleaned
Replace curtains for wipeable blinds
Disturbed dust is worse than settled dust so don’t worry about how often you dust but do dust with a damp cloth rather than polish, consultant advised ds not in same room when hoovering and dusting

He has a full mattress cover that I rarely remove, bit like a bag
Then he has A mattress protector that goes on top of the mattress, under sheet and pillow protector that are towelling on one side, waterproof rubbery material on reverse side.
I bought a duvet protector in the same fabric but it was a pain to use, so he just uses it like a sleeping bag when he stays away from home.
I bought some protectors from John Lewis and some from an allergy website.

DD has severe dust mite allergy, as PP said wash bedding (every week) night clothes at 60, I tumble dry and always hot iron to zap the buggers. We have all the mattress/pillow protectors, has blinds in her bedroom which we use damp cloth to dust, limit cuddly toys and pop in freezer every now and then. It’s definitely worse at different times if the year, her worst time of year is Sept to Nov, permanent cold symptoms, changed her antihistamine but she is not needing any at the moment fortunately. She does have allergy related mild asthma and eczema but this isn’t too bad and she appears to be growing out of it. Although not sure if you can grow out of dustmite allergy. It’s not the worst allergy to have is how I think but I’d rather she didn’t have it iyswim.

Ds has dustmite allergy, severest level. He's 11yo and hasn't got asthma.
