12

InSightMars · 23/12/2018 20:41

Is this a trick question? Surely everyone, including your imaginary friend, knows the answer is: ALL of them.

BeachtheButler · 23/12/2018 20:42

How many have you got?

XmasPostmanBos · 23/12/2018 20:42

I feel as if mince pies should be quite filling with all that pastry, but it seems possible to eat a huge amount no problem . Maybe that's how Santa manages Xmas Smile

DonaldDucksTowel · 23/12/2018 20:43

I’ve had 4 today
3 warm with clotted cream

I’ll be in leggings until at least February now Xmas Grin

Elephantina · 23/12/2018 20:44
  1. I'm off refined sugar for my liver.
bathtimesanity · 23/12/2018 20:47

I had 6 last Christmas Day lmao 😂

EachandEveryone · 23/12/2018 20:49

Do you warm them up first?

OnAScaleOf1to10ItsA7 · 23/12/2018 20:52

Well you only eat them once a year, so it doesn't matter how many you have over Christmas because you won't touch one again until next Christmas.

All the mince pies you eat now have to see you out the rest of the year. So crack on.

I've only had two today. Slacking.

Notquiterichenough · 23/12/2018 20:55

I made 42 on Sunday. They were gone by Wednesday. DS1 calculated that he ate 38 of them.

Ohyesiam · 23/12/2018 20:57

I’m a research scientist, and have looked into this in depth with several double-blind, crossover, placebo controlled trials.
The definitive answer is 17, unless brandy butter is brought into the question.
No Christians were hurt in the execution of this research.

ABitCrapper · 23/12/2018 20:58

SimplySteve I suspect you are correct. However I plan to start training for my first marathon from January 1st so hopefully I will run it off!

NotQuite 38?! Shock

Wow give that boy a medal!

None if they are not gluten free 😂
Merry Christmas 👍

ABitCrapper · 23/12/2018 20:59

elephantina shall I have one for you? Pure self sacrifice of course. With brandy butter or without?

.... I'd forgotten about the brandy butter! Mmmmmm

ABitCrapper · 23/12/2018 21:00

How the hell do you placebo a mince pie? Are they the gluten free ones? Wink

brizzledrizzle · 23/12/2018 21:06

They’ve got fruit in so must count as one of your 5 a day

You are missing vital nutrients so add brandy butter or cream so you get some calcium.

KlutzyDraconequus · 23/12/2018 21:08

Depends, I have a friend who eats millions in a single night, mind you, he is slightly tubby.. cheerful tho.

ABitCrapper · 23/12/2018 21:10

And I bet he probably burns it all off though with lots of heavy lifting?

OP posts:
youarenotkiddingme · 23/12/2018 21:13

At least 3

--Boxes

I have my own stash as I'm GF. mwah hahaha Grin

SimplySteve · 23/12/2018 21:25

Well you only eat them once a year

Says WHO Xmas Blush

Wheresmrlion · 23/12/2018 22:15

None. Yuk.

But half a Yule log is fair game Xmas Wink

HeronLanyon · 23/12/2018 22:21

I would also say 6. If puff pastry. If shortcrust pastry, none (so dry and heavy). But I would want to start with one or two for breakfast to spread them out a little.

widgetbeana · 23/12/2018 22:27

Ok so, I've made 120 homemade mince pies in the last 2 weeks. I have given away about 80 of them to friends and neighbours. But there seem to only be 5 left in the tin this evening. So hmmm those in the single figures are worrying me!

HeronLanyon · 23/12/2018 22:33

2 weeks = 14 days. 120-80=40. 5 left = 35 in 14 days. 2.25 per day. Abstemious! (Or my maths is wrong).

HeronLanyon · 23/12/2018 22:36

I rather think if it is 35 in one day - today - you are in for a very long night !
