Muscle relaxants - what can I get?

I’m awaiting a complex orthopaedic surgery. I’m struggling with muscle tightness and spasms. Pain relief doesn’t help. Is there anything my doctor could give to relax the muscles? I was once given diazepam but I know it’s probably not going to be prescribed for several months as there is a wait for the op. Thank you & happy Christmas x

Can you see someone for sports massage. I see a guy every week to help with a similar issue and it does wonders for mobility and pain relief.

I'm not a CBD oil advocate but plenty of folk have said it is an amazing muscle relaxant.

I use diazepam for muscle spasm. I only use it when it's absolutely needed as I don't want to become dependant, but there was no problem with my GP prescribing it.

Methocarbamol is a non addictive muscle relaxer. You can take it long term xxx

My ds takes baclofen for his spasticity and muscle spasm.

Do t know if it'll help your kind of condition but worth googling the drug and discussing with consultant.

I second diazepam. Works a treat in 2mg doses

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I’m in too much pain for sports massage or similar, sadly. I need this surgery ASAP but realistically, it isn’t going to happen.

Methocarbamol / Robaxin
Baclofen
Dantrium
Zanaflex / Tinazidine

Zanaflex has helped me over the last 5 years,

Dantrium isnt often used but it was recommended to me as capsules by an anaesthetist, its normally used as a paralysing agent in operations - so your GP may not be aware of it

I’m on Methacarbamol. It’s great for muscle spasms and cramps.
