Quark instead of cream cheese?

Sorry for posting food post in chat, but need a quick answer!

I make amazing cheesecakes in my electric pressure cooker (PKP), and have to make 3 for Christmas. Meaning I need nearly 1.5kg cream cheese 😳

Our Tesco only has the herb or light stuff at the moment and I don't fancy trawling the shops, can I replace with quark or is that a no-no?

Will suck it up and deal with shopping mayhem if needs be... pray for me

Yes you can. If it’s too watery add some mascarpone to thicken it or if you bake your cheesecake custard powder

Thank you @RedTulip86 for the quick response 👍

You can, but add extra vanilla if you can.

Quark tastes awful 😂

Slimming World use it in place of cream cheese, so you could always check out some of their recipes online if you wanted to see how they use it.

No never quark, it is horrible!

I’d rather no cheesecake tbh

JuniperBeer · 23/12/2018 12:08

Don’t do it! It won’t be the same. Try and dash in and out of the shops

FedUpWithBriiiiiick · 23/12/2018 12:32

Ok I'm going to venture out and try Sainsbury's in the next town over - very scared of quark now BlushGrin

Nothing wrong with quark but the fat content is virtually nil so you'll need something to help emulsify the ingredients.
