Hand hygiene with sore/cracked skin

Looking for some suggestions /advice.

I have a newly suppressed immune system due to meds I am taking for a LTI. I am now more likely to get colds, I have had two in the last 6 weeks.

I know the importance of clean hands, but I have terrible dry hands, and chapped skin around my nails. Winter makes it worse.

I want to use a gel when out and about, but it makes my skin drier too.

Has anyone any non-drying alternatives?

Just a wee update and a thank you - I have seen a big improvement in the last few days. I have been carefully washing and drying, and using lots of Body Shop Hemp cream. It helps that I am off work too. Anyway, I picked up the O'Keeffe's Working Hands cream, which also seems to be doing a good job.

New nails today, and just a few small sores left ☺
