Does anybody else stress about their children being ill for Christmas?

I've got 2 children aged 4 and 3 months. This time of year just seems so bad for bugs and illnesses going round. my DD is hardly ever ill but she has had tonsillitus for a week. I thought it would be much better by now. Tonight she had a horrendous loose poo which made me think argh now she's got a stomach bug! 3 month old DS has had bronchiolitis but seems a bit better.

All I keep thinking all the time is what if they're ill for Christmas and now I think of it I was like this last year too when DD got awful virus the week before the big day. it's stressful Xmas Sad I wish I could stop being so bothered!

I'm a paediatric nurse, there are worse places to be on Christmas Day than a children's ward. The atmosphere is great. Parents really do just make the best of it. We are absolutely knee deep in gifts to give out.

@thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter yes I agree. Sorry about your relative.

Dont worry. There's always emergency health care at Christmas.

I was a bit like you when the children were young as we live a long way from any A and E. Over an hour one way, hour and half the other. I hardly ever drank, just in case I needed to drive. So I have a lot of sympathy.
